Substrate cultivation is a new type of soilless cultivation technique, which mainly absorbs nutrient solution and oxygen through substrate. Now let's take a look at the substrate cultivation techniques.

I. Technical introduction

Vegetable substrate cultivation technology is gradually recognized by the majority of vegetable farmers because of its advantages such as labor-saving, water-saving, fertilizer-saving, high-quality and high-efficiency, environmental protection, less pollution and avoiding continuous cropping obstacles. In view of the current situation that the one-time investment in substrate cultivation facilities is too large, the management of nutrient solution is tedious, and the occurrence of diseases is difficult to control, we adhere to the principle of "simplicity, energy saving, high efficiency and ecology". The substrate cultivation has been improved, tested, demonstrated and popularized for many years, and a new "five changes" simple organic ecotype substrate cultivation technique which can be adopted by vegetable farmers and is easy to be popularized and applied has been explored.

Second, common matrix

The substrates such as peat, vermiculite, perlite and rock wool used in conventional substrate cultivation were changed to agricultural wastes (such as rice chaff, sawdust, mushroom mud, chicken manure, pig manure, rice straw, etc.) as the main matrix raw materials. it is made by retting, fermentation and adding organic and inorganic fertilizer. Such as Dongjin brand 1 matrix formula: northeast peat ∶ rotten sawdust ∶ mature rice chaff = 1 ∶ 2 ∶ 2, adding 15kg/ cubic meters of expanded chicken manure (chicken manure content 25% ∶ 7.5 mSpcm) + 1kg imported ternary compound fertilizer (15 ∶ 15) + a small amount of calcium, magnesium, zinc, boron and molybdenum and other microfertilizers. Its bulk density is 0.3g/ cubic centimeter, EC,0.9mS/cm, pH 6.05 or so. Using the formula matrix produced from agricultural waste, the substrate cost of growing tomatoes and cucumbers per 667m2 is only about 3000 yuan, which is nearly 60% lower than that of peat substrate in Northeast China.

Substrate cultivation can effectively save the area of land and achieve large-scale planting. If you have the technology and conditions, you might as well try.
