When the autumn harvest is over, farmers will be busy planting new crops. Wheat is one of them, and there is a lot of work to be done about wheat cultivation. So, how to grow wheat?

How to grow wheat

1. Before sowing

1. Land preparation

When planting wheat, deep ploughing is recommended, especially in the planting area of two seasons a year, the crops of the previous season will not be ploughed deeply, so when planting wheat, deep ploughing is recommended, which is generally more than 10 centimeters, which is conducive to the normal growth of wheat and the increase of the final yield.

2. Seed selection

Choosing the right seed is also a very important factor. Due to the different climate and temperature in each place, the choice of seeds will be different. First of all, the varieties suitable for the local climate are the main, and secondly, the resistance should be good.

3. Seed dressing

The seed dressing of wheat sowing is very necessary, its main purpose is to prevent insects and diseases, seed dressing has many functions, diseases and insect pests need to be prevented.

4. Fertilizer

The application of base fertilizer before sowing is also a key link. At present, some farmers use compound fertilizer, while others use urea diammonium potassium fertilizer. No matter what kind of fertilizer is used, the base fertilizer is enough.

Second, sowing seeds

1. Depth

The sowing depth has a great influence on the emergence and subsequent growth of wheat. If the sowing is too shallow, the emergence of wheat will not be very good, and it is easy to lodge in the later stage. If the sowing is too deep, the growth of wheat will consume too many nutrients, and the situation of weak and yellow seedlings will increase, which is not conducive to the normal growth of wheat. Therefore, it is generally recommended that the sowing depth of ordinary plots should be 3-4 cm.

2. Sowing quantity

According to the understanding of different areas, the sowing amount of wheat per mu varies greatly, with wheat seeds less than 15 to 20 jin per mu and as much as 50 to 60 jin. In fact, the sowing rate of wheat has a lot to do with the sowing density. If the sowing amount of wheat is too small and the field density is too small, the wheat yield will not increase.

If the sowing rate of wheat is too large and the fields are too dense, there will be competition for water and nutrients in the early stage, and ventilation and transmittance will be weakened in the middle and later stages, which will directly affect the final yield.
