Emerald flower, also known as Xi Lin taro, is a large foliage plant. It is deeply loved by flower friends because of its easy breeding and high ornamental value. Many people like to keep a pot at home. What are the breeding methods of emerald flower?

1. Sowing and reproduction

(1) seed collection: at the end of December, the ripe emerald fruit is collected and dried in the sun, then the seeds are peeled off, the membrane on the surface is removed, stored and can be used in the spring of the following year.

(2) treatment of seeds: take out the seeds, select healthy and full seeds, and soak them in water for three or four hours. After three or four hours, remove the seeds to dry, stir them in the wet sand, and then sow them in the soil. Finally, cover with thin soil and cover with a layer of plastic film to moisturize.

(3) late management technology: after sprouting, remove the plastic film, then spray fungicide every 7-10 days, pour some water at noon on a sunny day, take root after 20-25 days, and put on the basin when the root grows to about 2cm.

2. Cuttage propagation

The main results are as follows: (1) cutting time: from March to April, cutting can be carried out when the average temperature is higher than 15 degrees.

(2) Cuttage method: cut a 1-2-year-old woody branch from a robust emerald plant, then cut it into 15-20 cm long branches, and insert them into the soil.

(3) Post-cutting management techniques: after cutting, keep the soil moist, and do not bask in the sun for the time being. If the humidity is not enough, you can cover the plastic film and open it during the day to let it breathe. After the roots grow, remove the plastic film and do a good job of water and fertilizer.

Generally speaking, emerald flowers are simple in both sowing and cutting propagation, but cutting is relatively simple, as long as a section of branch is cut and inserted into the soil.
