In modern times, growing flowers seems to have become the daily life of urban families. It can not only beautify the environment, but also cultivate sentiment, which can be said to kill two birds with one stone. Camellia is a good choice. Do you know when camellia blossoms and what fertilization techniques there are?

When do camellias bloom?

Camellia usually blossoms from January to April, most of them are red or light red, some are white, and most of them are double. It is native to China. At present, there are wild species in Sichuan, Taiwan, Shandong, Jiangxi and other places in China, and are widely planted in various places. The propagation methods are commonly used, such as cutting, grafting, striping, sowing and tissue culture. Cuttings are usually the main method.

What are the fertilization techniques of camellia?

Camellia is a fertilizer-loving plant, so in the process of breeding, pay attention to fertilization, fertilization of camellia, we should pay attention to moderation, not to apply too much, not to apply thick fertilizer. Otherwise, not only can not make the flower grow well, but will damage the root system of the flower. Therefore, we must pay attention to the following points when fertilizing camellias.

1. Base fertilizer

The base fertilizer of camellia had better be organic fertilizer, such as fermented chicken and duck dung and animal organs, as well as bean cake, fishbone meal and so on. These organic fertilizers have nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other components, more comprehensive, and the fertilizer effect is very long. When applied, it can be dried in the sun, crushed into powder, mixed with 5-6 times of dry soil, and then removed 2-3 cm away from the root of the plant when turning the basin.

two。 Topdressing

Camellia likes cool sex fertilizer and avoids hot fertilizer, so when forcing fertilizer after the beginning of spring, it is necessary to apply alum fertilizer water (alum fertilizer water can maintain the acidity of the basin soil). The production of alum fertilizer water is to add 100g green alum (that is, ferrous sulfate) to 10kg of water, and then add 200g bean cake powder and 1000 g dried poultry dung to soak. Soak for 1 month in hot weather and rot in 3-4 months when it is cool. When pouring, it can be used after adding lO-20 times clean water according to its concentration. Usually forced fertilizer is usually once every 10-15 days, and alum fertilizer and rotten liquid fertilizer (that is, the liquid after soaking and rotting with bean cake and poultry dung) can be applied alternately, which can not only meet the nutrients needed for the growth and development of camellias, but also keep the soil acidic.

3. Other

After flowering from March to May, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 0.2% urea can be used for several times of extra-root fertilization, once a week, three times in a row, which can make the spring shoots stout; stop fertilization during bud flowering in June, and apply phosphate and potassium fertilizer again after August; after the Beginning of Autumn, watering and fertilization should be gradually reduced, only 0.2% ferrous sulfate should be irrigated every 10 days or so. Spray and wash the leaves with lukewarm water close to room temperature every 5-6 days. At the beginning of January, after the flowerpot was moved into the room, the alum fertilizer water and 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution were applied again, and no more fertilizer was applied later.

In order to make the camellia bloom well, we should not only master the above fertilization techniques, but also pay attention to daily management such as watering and pruning.
