I. Land

Deep ploughing and fertilization are needed, which is more conducive to the growth of garlic.

Second, sowing seeds

It is necessary to select good varieties to raise seedlings, sow at the right time, the planting density should be reasonable, and the plastic film can be covered under certain conditions.

Seed selection: according to the characteristics of the variety, garlic with large head, large petal and even clove should be selected for seeding. Before sowing, the cloves are broken and the moldy, moth-eaten and broken cloves are removed. They are divided into three grades according to their size. When sowing, first sow first-class seed petal (100-valve weight is about 500 grams), then sow second-class seed valve (100-valve weight is about 400 grams), and third-grade seed valve (100-valve weight less than 300 grams) is generally not planted. Seeds of different levels should be planted separately, not mixed.

The most suitable time for garlic sowing is to make the plant grow to 5 leaves before overwintering.

Planting density: according to the characteristics of varieties to achieve appropriate close planting, generally planting 40-50 000 plants per mu; early-maturing varieties should be more dense, about 50 000 plants per mu should be better; mid-and late-maturing varieties should be sparse and about 40, 000 plants per mu should be better.

Covering plastic film: generally sowing first and then covering the film. Cover the film tightly and press it tightly. So that the film is close to the ground, there is no gap, the film is not wrinkled, and when it is damaged, it is blocked with soil in time.

III. Other management

Do a good job in watering, fertilization and weeding management to ensure the high yield of garlic.

Garlic seedlings were watered once after coming out, combined with watering, applying 5-8 kg high nitrogen compound fertilizer per mu to promote seedling growth, for the fields with high fertility and sufficient bottom fertilizer, there was no fertilization, and then controlled fertilizer and water, ploughing and weeding, loosening soil to preserve soil moisture.

In order to protect the seedlings from overwintering, timely and appropriate amount of frozen water should be irrigated once. When the temperature rises in spring and garlic heart leaves and roots begin to grow, return to green water, combined with watering, apply 8-10 kg high nitrogen compound fertilizer per mu to promote seedling growth.

After the withdrawal of mother, the plant began to live independently, flower buds and scale buds began to differentiate and entered a period of vigorous growth. In this period, it is necessary to fertilize Shuiqin, generally watering once every 5 to 6 days, applying fertilizer once every 2 times, and applying 1520kg compound fertilizer per mu for a total of twice. The watering of garlic bolts was stopped 3-5 days before harvest, which made the plants withered slightly, so that the "mouth loose" was easy for cabbage.

After bolting, the vegetable was immediately watered once, and 1520 kg of high nitrogen compound fertilizer was applied per mu to meet the nutrient needs of garlic expansion. The garlic was watered once in the next 4-5 days and stopped watering one week before harvest to make the garlic tissue mature and improve its storability.
