Thorn tender bud is a kind of wild vegetable, which is mainly distributed in the eastern part of Northeast China. Many people like to eat this kind of wild vegetable, so how to plant thorn tender bud seeds?

First, the basic introduction of thorn buds

Thorn buds are perennial deciduous small trees, also known as: Aralia elata, Aralia elata, magpie, dragon bud, thorn bud, etc., mainly distributed in the eastern part of Northeast China, growing in well-drained forest clearings, forest edges and shrubs. It is a treasure of wild vegetables in the mountains.

It is characterized by abundant sunshine, loose and breathable soil, good drainage, fertile neutral or partial acid loam or sandy loam, warm and humid climate, suitable temperature of 25: 30 ℃, strong cold resistance, and can survive the winter safely at-40 ℃.

Thorn buds are mainly distributed in Northeast China, North China and northern Henan, Yunnan, Guizhou and other places, as well as Japan, North Korea, South Korea and the Russian far East. Born in forest margins, thickets and sparse forests at 250-1000 meters above sea level.

Second, how to plant the seeds of thorn buds?

Choose suitable land for planting, such as barren slopes, barren hills or orchards. Sowing and raising seedlings at an appropriate time (both in spring and autumn), and the planting density should be reasonable. Water and fertilizer, temperature and light management should be carried out during the growth of thorn buds.

Among them, the seedling is divided into open field seedling and pot seedling:

1. Raising seedlings in open field

The time to make a bed can be in autumn or spring, choose a flat plot to turn loose and fine, apply 300kg of rotten farm manure per mu, and 50kg of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer combined with soil preparation, and then make a bed with a width of 1.2m and a height of 10cm. Sow seeds after finishing the bed, and the sowing time is set at the end of March to Ching Ming Festival. The seeds of thorn buds are very small. In order to improve the sowing quality and make it uniform, fine sand should be mixed with 10-15 kg per mu.

2. Raising seedlings in bowl and tray

Plastic bowls and plates are used to raise seedlings in advance in the greenhouse, and the time can be set at about 2 months before transplantation. the matrix can use crushed peat to add a small amount of mature high-quality farm fertilizer and compound fertilizer, and a small amount of yellow mud should be added to the substrate in order to increase viscosity. When sowing, fill the bowl with 3x4 deep matrix, and after watering, sow the treated seeds. For the sake of safety, it is best to sow an average of 1520 seeds per hole. After sowing the seeds, cover them with a thin layer of matrix or mountain skin soil, and cover the top with a thin layer of vermiculite powder.

Commercial vegetables can be harvested in the second year after thorn buds are planted. When the sprouts grow to 10-15 cm, they are picked. When picking, the hands are not pricked, and the nails can be picked. Generally from mid-late April to early May, after three years, it can be harvested twice a year, the first time about 10 days, and the second time.
