Adzuki bean pods linear-cylindrical, pendulous, 6-10 cm long and 5 mm wide, glabrous, 6-10 seeds, long oval, usually dark red, sometimes brown, black or straw yellow, 3-3.5 mm in diameter, navel sunken. The florescence is from May to August.

1. Seed selection

Select the seeds of adzuki bean with large and full grains, and select the varieties suitable for local planting.

For example, Kenyin No. 1, Baoqinghong, long Xiaodou, Hejiang No. 1, Japan Red, Ji 111, Dahongpao and so on.

2. Sowing seeds

Planting according to reasonable density, row spacing is generally 50-60cm.

In order to ensure early emergence and full emergence of seedlings, the depth of sowing should be consistent as far as possible. Mechanical or manual seed selection should be carried out before sowing. Remove worm-eaten grains, fragments and impurities to ensure the cleanliness and purity of the seeds. 3. Other management

Adzuki bean seedling stage also need to carry out intermediate ploughing and weeding, but also reasonable fertilization in the process of growth to prevent diseases and insect pests.

Middle tillage: adzuki bean seedling growth potential is weak, vulnerable to weeds, not conducive to growth. Timely ploughing can not only eliminate weeds in the field, but also loosen soil, increase soil temperature, regulate soil moisture, nutrients and aeration, promote the growth of roots and aboveground parts, and enhance their nitrogen capacity.

Fertilization: the general fertilization principle of planting adzuki bean is skillful application of nitrogen fertilizer, re-application of phosphorus fertilizer, differential application of potassium fertilizer, appropriate application of molybdenum fertilizer and bacterial fertilizer.

Pest control: biological pesticides such as Nongkang 120, Keshengmycin and oxymatrine can be used for seed dressing before sowing. BT biological agents and oxymatrine biological insecticides can be used to control aphids and bean pod borer at the initial stage of the occurrence of aphids and bean pod borer during the growth period (mid-July and early August).
