Big-leaf bamboo is a kind of perennial evergreen small tree foliage plant, which is more suitable for family breeding, so how to raise it?

First, the introduction of Daye Bamboo

Phyllostachys macrophylla is a kind of perennial evergreen small tree foliage plant, which is native to the Gali Islands and tropical Africa and Asia. it has been widely introduced into China since the late 1980s and is generally used for family vase or pot cultivation.

Big leaf bamboo is known as Fugui bamboo, also known as longevity bamboo, distance flower longevity bamboo, open bamboo, rich pagoda and so on.

Phyllostachys macrophylla is suitable for growing in sandy soil or semi-muddy sand and alluvium clay with good drainage due to its high temperature, wet, fertility and cold resistance.

Second, how to raise big-leaf bamboo?

Phyllostachys pubescens can be cultured in water or soil:

In hydroponic culture, the base of the big-leaf bamboo should be cut into an oblique orifice and cultured in clean water, and the extra basal leaves should also be cut off.

Soil culture is to plant big-leaf bamboo in fertile and loose soil, and carry out watering, fertilization management, but also give a certain amount of light.

Before breeding, Phyllostachys pubescens should be propagated, and the breeding methods are as follows:

1. Cutting

First cut the top panicle branch or lateral bud apical ear, about 15-20 cm (4-5 internodes) after treatment, directly inserted into the sandy soil or semi-muddy sandy soil field, buried in the soil 2 internodes, watered once a day after insertion, to keep the soil moist. Generally, it can take root in 30-35 days in spring and 35-45 days in autumn and winter.

2. Raising seedlings

Generally cut the stem without leaves as cuttings, 5-10 cm long, preferably 3 internodes, inserted in the sand bed or semi-muddy sand, should pay attention to the upper and lower ends not upside down. It can take root in 25-30 days in spring and autumn, and pot or transplant in 35 days.
