Chaotian pepper is a kind of small and spicy pepper, which is very popular in the market. It is mostly used to make kimchi and millet. It is planted in many parts of our country, and some of it is specially planted on the balcony. What are the planting methods of Chaotian pepper?

1. Seed selection

There are many varieties of Chaotian pepper, which can be divided into many varieties according to quality, yield and capsaicin content, and the varieties with high quality, strong resistance, strong spicy taste and high fruiting rate are the best when selecting seeds.

2. Land selection and preparation

Chaotian pepper is suitable to grow in the soil with good drainage and sufficient fertility, so try to choose the soil with good drainage when selecting the land. After selecting the land, it is necessary to dig the soil deeply and apply about 3000 kilograms of mature farm manure per mu, and finally level off to be sown.

3. Sowing and raising seedlings

(1) sowing time: the seeds are usually sown in mid-March. if they are in North China, they can be sown in sunny weather before and after Grain Rain.

(2) sowing method: live broadcast

(3) treat seeds: select some healthy, full and undamaged seeds, then put them in the sun for a few days, finally soak them in warm water of 50-55 degrees for a period of time, and then soak them in 30 degrees water for about 24 hours. finally, remove and drain.

(4) sowing: sow the treated seeds evenly on the seedbed, then cover with thin soil, pour a small amount of water, and cover with a layer of straw.

4. Transplanting

When the seedlings grow to 10cm or so, the seedlings can be transplanted to the field with soil roots. When transplanting, according to the distance between the row and the 45*35cm, the planting depth is 5-8cm.

5. Field management technology

(1) Water requirement: watering should be carried out immediately after transplanting, so that it can adapt to the new environment more quickly, grow new roots and improve the survival rate.

(2) Seedling replacement: some seedlings may not survive in the field 5-10 days after transplanting, so timely seedling replenishment is needed to ensure the quality of seedlings in the field.

(3) Fertilizer requirements: because of their different rates of growth and adaptation to the environment, we need to fertilize for the first time after transplanting and apply urea and compound fertilizer according to different growth degrees. so that slower-growing plants can keep up with the general growth pace. When the pepper blossoms and bears pepper, it is necessary to maintain the moisture of the soil and apply 50 kilograms of boron and potash fertilizer, and finally, each batch of Chaotian pepper needs to be fertilized once in the field.

(4) Intertillage weeding: when Chaotian pepper seedlings grow to 20-25cm, the first intertillage weeding should be carried out, and the second topdressing should be carried out to improve the soil's absorptive capacity, permeability and growth rate. If the weather is relatively dry and there is no Rain Water, artificial irrigation is needed.

(5) Disease and pest control: during the growth of Chaotian pepper, there are anthracnose, virus disease, leaf curl and some vegetable insects that eat pepper fruit. There are two methods of prevention and control, one is environmental protection, that is, through daily management to control, that is, to control the moisture in the field, and through manual disinfestation. The second is chemical control, that is, the use of drugs for specific diseases for prevention and treatment, while choosing pesticides with low toxicity as far as possible to reduce its harm to the human body.
