2. Cultivation techniques of crab claw orchid

1. Temperature

The suitable growth temperature of crab claw orchid is 25-30 ℃. We should pay attention to sunscreen in summer and heat preservation in winter.

In winter, the room temperature was kept at about 15 ℃, lower than 10 ℃, and the sudden change of temperature and excessive temperature difference led to the drop of flowers and buds, and the best temperature during flowering was 10-15 ℃, which was moved to the place of scattered light to prolong the viewing period.

2. Watering

Watering is mainly by spraying water, less watering, not in the rain, so as to avoid rotting roots.

Water can be sprayed on the ground near and around the plant to increase air humidity and lower temperature. Keep the basin soil moist during the growing season to avoid being too dry or too wet. Spraying foliar water when the air is dry, especially in the bud period, is beneficial to multiple pregnant buds.

3. Fertilization

It is not suitable to use chemical fertilizer. If you want to apply fertilizer, you can use self-made rotten fertilizer.

4. Pruning

In the process of growth, crab claw orchid also need to build a support frame, the plant should also be pruned, so that crab claw orchid can grow better.

Planting crab claw orchid should reasonably prepare support frame according to the size of its plant, especially after five or six years old, the branch crown increases, the pressure increases, and the support frame should be replaced in time to prevent plant lodging caused by support frame decay.

After the flowers fade in spring, cut short from the 3-4 stem nodes under the residual flowers in time, and at the same time remove some old stems and overdense stem nodes to facilitate ventilation and home maintenance; in the cultivation of crab claw orchid, sometimes 4-5 new branches grow from the top of a node, 1-2 should be deleted in time.
