Rice is a cereal crop of rice, which represents the species of rice. Rice is native to China and India, and its ancestors planted rice in the Yangtze River Basin of China 7,000 years ago. So when will early rice be sown?

When will early rice be sown?

Early rice is normally sown from late March to early April. According to the difference of sowing time, growing period and mature period, rice can be divided into three types: early rice, middle rice and late rice.

II. Rice planting and distribution

The distribution area of rice planting in China is mainly in the south, and rice production is more and more concentrated in the dominant areas. In recent years, rice production in China has gradually concentrated to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Heilongjiang rice production areas. At present, the southern rice region accounts for about 94% of the rice sown area in China, of which the rice area in the Yangtze River basin accounts for 65.7% of the country, and the rice farming area in the north accounts for about 6% of the country.

Early rice production has a total of 13 provinces, all distributed in the south, including Hunan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Guangdong and other four provinces, accounting for more than 75% of the country's sown area.

The production of medium rice and first-cropping rice is distributed in all parts of the country except Guangdong, Hainan and Qinghai, of which Sichuan, Jiangsu, Heilongjiang, Anhui, Hubei, Yunnan, Hunan and Chongqing account for more than 70% of the country's sown area.

Early rice is a southern indica rice with early cultivation time and early maturity. The production of late rice is distributed in 15 southern provinces, which is similar to that of early rice.
