There is such a saying that I wonder if you have ever heard of the soft-shelled turtle, which is commonly known as the soft-shelled turtle. It can be seen that the value of the soft-shelled turtle was discovered by people a long time ago, but the soft-shelled turtle at that time was relatively precious. Not all ordinary people can afford it.

How to raise soft-shelled turtle at home

1. Environment

Get a tank, the bigger the better, preferably a rectangular glass fish tank, or a large sorting box. The water can be deeper and there is no need to place a sun terrace; if the tortoise needs sunlight, it is recommended to put it on the balcony or room facing south. But if there are infants or pregnant women at home, it is best not to keep turtles. Turtles are easy to carry some germs. Summer should be properly covered, not too strong in the sun. Should pay attention to prevent the growth of algae in the tank, you can buy algae removal agents, which are sold in general aquarium stores. The bottom of the cylinder can be covered with small pebbles or large pebbles. However, if it is paved, it will be very troublesome to change the water. Beginners suggest using a bare tank, but nothing will be laid. Don't put water plants in the water.

2. Water for raising turtles

To use tap water that has been dry for more than 2 days (for the purpose of removing chlorine), it is best to prepare two plastic buckets to dry, which can meet the needs of changing water. It is recommended to change the water every two to three days, only one part at a time, there is no need to change the whole tank of water, unless the water and the surrounding of the tank is very dirty. When changing part of the water, use the plastic tube to siphon the dirty water out of the bottom, and then add the same capacity of new water (that is, tap water hung for 2 days) into the tank. Turtles that change water in this way will not have white eye disease or rotten nails. If you find it troublesome, you can use a filter, which is the kind used for fish farming, so as to stabilize the water quality and create a good environment for the use of nitrifying bacteria. Water is changed more frequently in summer.

3. Turtles eat in the water

When feeding, just put the feed directly into the water. Turtles are generally fed with pork, beef, shrimp, small fish, poultry and fish liver, these foods should be chopped or torn up, but these animal feeds can easily pollute the water quality. It is recommended that when feeding, take out the turtle and feed it in a separate container. Beginners suggest feed, good feed such as lifeline, inch gold, are good. The feed is easy to worry, and the professional turtle feed has better nutrition, and it is not easy to pollute the water quality. In summer, the temperature is high and the tortoise has a fast metabolism, so it can be fed once a day, but it is generally recommended that turtles do not need to be fed too frequently, and it is no problem to feed them once a few days. As long as they have an adequate supply of water, it is no problem for them not to eat for half a month. Turtles are usually fed the size of their heads.

4. About hibernation

When the temperature drops below 13 ℃ from October to May, the tortoise begins to hibernate until the temperature rises to 18 degrees Celsius. Hibernating turtles don't eat and don't move, they just sleep. The simplest way to hibernate is to move the turtle into a dark and quiet place indoors, hibernating in shallow water (just over the back armour) and changing water once a month. In addition to changing water, try not to disturb the turtle. Be careful that the temperature is not lower than 6 degrees, otherwise the life of the turtle will be endangered. However, it is recommended to use heating sticks in winter, because the mortality rate of natural hibernation is very high. Heating rod is the kind of tropical fish, the temperature is set at about 30 degrees, with a lid on the tank.

The basic introduction of soft-shelled turtle

Soft-shelled turtle is soft-shelled turtle. Soft-shelled turtle commonly known as soft-shelled turtle, water fish, fish and bastards, egg reptiles, amphibious life. Soft-shelled turtle meat is delicious and nutritious, with the effect of clearing heat and nourishing yin, calming the liver and extinguishing wind, soft firmness and scattered knots. It is not only a delicacy on the table, but also a widely used nourishing medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. In China, there are mainly soft-shelled turtles, and soft-shelled turtles, of which soft-shelled turtles are the most common. This species has been listed in the list of terrestrial wildlife under national protection or with important economic and scientific research value issued by the State Forestry Administration of China on August 1, 2000.

Soft-shelled turtles look like turtles. The shape of the soft-shelled turtle is oval, which is flatter than the tortoise. From the observation of the color of the shape, the soft-shelled turtle usually shows dark green on the back and limbs, some light brown on the back and white and red on the ventral side. Its head is like a tortoise. Its dorsal ventral nail has a soft adventitia, which has no turtle-like stripes and is softer than a tortoise. Surrounded by a soft and delicate skirt. Each limb has five claws. The head, neck and limbs can be stretched. The shell is different from other turtles in that the bony shell has no peripheral bone plate, high textured surface, no angular external bone plate and loosely connected abdomen (ventral armour). The torso is slightly oval, the kiss is long, the nostril opens at the end of the kiss, and the back is raised with bony armour. The limbs are thick, short and slightly flat, with a five-toe type, with a webbed membrane between the toes, the female tail generally does not reach the outer edge of the skirt, and most of the males extend beyond the skirt. Some giant soft-shelled turtles can reach more than one meter. Females are usually twice as big as males.

How to raise soft-shelled turtle is not easy to die

1. Soft-shelled turtles are amphibious and breathe with their lungs, so there should be a sufficient area of land beach around or in the center of the turtle pond so that it can carry out land activities. The soft-shelled turtle is sensitive to the sound of the surrounding environment, as long as there is a little movement around, the soft-shelled turtle can quickly dive into the underwater silt, so the breeding environment must be kept quiet. If the soft-shelled turtle is often frightened, it is very disadvantageous to its growth and reproduction.

2. Soft-shelled turtles like to stay in an environment with good water quality, so the owner must change the water frequently, about every 3 days.

3. Soft-shelled turtles should bask in the sun more, because the ultraviolet rays in the sun can kill the pathogenic bacteria on the body surface, promote the healing of the injured body surface, and raise the body temperature and promote food digestion by basking in the back.

4. Soft-shelled turtle is an aquatic omnivore and likes to eat animal bait. Juvenile soft-shelled turtles feed on aquatic insects, water earthworms, tadpoles, shrimps and so on. Adult soft-shelled turtles feed on field snails, clams and other molluscs, fish, shrimp and animal carcasses, as well as vegetable, fruit, miscellaneous grains and other plant feed. Little turtle, you can cut the meat into minced meat and feed it to him slowly.

5. When using fresh materials for feeding, they must be disinfected, cleaned and used now to avoid corruption and deterioration. Feeding should be in the form of feeding, and the bait is 2mi 3cm from the surface of the water. The soft-shelled turtle is timid, so the interference to it should be minimized when feeding.

6. The soft-shelled turtle hibernates at the end of November in the south. In the north, it is about a month earlier. Hibernation does not need another place to prepare for hibernation. Only half of the sand is spread out of the water in the basin. It may climb out of the water and sleep motionless on the sand for dozens of days, and then unwittingly go into the water and sleep for dozens of days.

7. Pay attention to mosquitoes in summer. Soft-shelled turtles are afraid of mosquitoes.

8. Soft-shelled turtles are ferocious and aggressive by nature, bullying and bullying among groups is very common, and they will cannibalize the same kind when food is scarce. So feed enough food in the feeding process and pay close attention to their behavior.

Choice of site for raising soft-shelled turtle

The selection and construction of turtle breeding sites is not only the first step in artificial breeding and breeding of soft-shelled turtles, but also a key step to lay a good foundation. The scale of turtle culture sites can be determined with the funds of turtle farmers, it can be a pond or a turtle farm composed of dozens of ponds; it can be open-air, or it can be covered with plastic sheds or greenhouses. Regardless of the size of the venue, the following principles should be followed in the selection:

1. Soft-shelled turtle ponds should be built in places with plenty of sunshine and quiet environment to avoid being frightened and conducive to the growth of soft-shelled turtles.

2. The soil of turtle pond should be clay or loam, which is beneficial to water conservation. If sandy land which is easy to leak is used, effective anti-seepage measures must be taken.

3. The water quality of the source must be good and clean, free from pollution from industrial and agricultural pesticide sewage. The water in rivers, lakes and reservoirs is the best, and the well water should raise the water temperature through the tanning pond. if you use polluted water to raise soft-shelled turtles, all previous efforts will be wasted.

4. The soft-shelled turtle farm should be close to the feed source, such as where there are meat, fish processing plants or places rich in aquatic animal resources (snail clam, etc.). The soft-shelled turtle can be raised by using its internal wastes and fresh natural bait to reduce the cost. When designing the turtle pond, it should be designed according to the different culture objects (parent soft-shelled turtle, juvenile soft-shelled turtle, young soft-shelled turtle, adult soft-shelled turtle).

With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, soft-shelled turtle is no longer an unattainable thing, it is now an ordinary dish, it has entered tens of thousands of hotels and tens of thousands of ordinary families, so turtle farming has become a development project favored by many investors.
