Brooding stage

After coming out of the shell for 24 hours, the turkeys were moved to the incubator to be raised, teased and taught to eat, and drank to 20 ℃ of clean warm water. Newborn turkeys should be fed with high-protein feed, and the crude protein in the diet should reach about 25%. At the same time, all kinds of vitamins and minerals and green fodder should be supplemented. They were fed 5 times 6 times on the first Sunday and 4 times after 4 weeks. The temperature standard of newborn turkeys is higher than that of ordinary domestic chicks, with a temperature requirement of 35-38 ℃, and then decreases by 3 ℃ per week until it is de-heated. Chicks like spicy taste, can be properly mixed with onions, garlic and leeks to increase the chick's appetite, inhibit fungi, and promote the digestion of chicks.

Breeding stage

The female turkey enters the breeding stage at the age of 8 weeks and the male turkey enters the breeding stage at the age of 10 weeks. During this period, feed should be properly controlled and the speed of improvement should be slowed down, which is conducive to egg laying in the future. The general dietary crude protein level can be reduced to 15%-18%. Conditions can be carried out during the day grazing, morning and evening appropriate supplementary feeding of bran, grain, chopped sweet potatoes and so on.

Egg laying stage

The mother turkey enters the first laying period from the age of 30 weeks. Full-price formula feed should be fed during the laying period, and the protein should be maintained at a level of 18% to 20%. In general, after every 10 or 15 eggs a turkey lays, the mother turkey begins to nest and hatch. In order to make the mother turkey lay more eggs, the common method of awakening the nest can be taken to urge the mother turkey to wake up as soon as possible. Most turkeys mate naturally, with a male-female ratio of 1 ∶ 10. Breeder cocks require strong, lively, oily feathers and thick and straight legs; breeder hens require flat backs, wide breasts and large bodies, and bright feathers and flesh. In order to avoid inbreeding and breed degradation, breeder cocks should be introduced or exchanged from other places.
