What to watch out for in Autumn?

1. Reduce feeding times. If the raccoon has been able to live independently and is healthy, the feeding times can be changed from 3 times to 2 times on the premise of maintaining the same feeding quantity, feeding them in the morning and evening respectively. Not only can avoid the anorexia of raccoon under high temperature, but also can mobilize the eating enthusiasm of raccoon, ensure the body needs and smooth growth.

2. Adequate water supply. Many farmers believe that self-made feed already contains a lot of water, so feeding self-made feed raccoon does not need to feed additional water. In fact, the moisture in the homemade materials is far from enough to resist high temperature consumption. Therefore, at least 500 ml of clean water is supplied to each raccoon separately every day. The raccoon fed with pellet complete feed has more water supply, so it must drink water at any time, otherwise it will cause physical injury.

3. Control the feeding of excipients. The raccoon dog can be raised in early autumn as long as the physical signs are basically normal. The best period for raccoon dog growth is late autumn and early winter after cool weather. Therefore, blindly adding other animal residues (chicken liver, chicken rack, cow residue, etc.) to raccoon seeds is prohibited at this time, so as to avoid illness caused by weak absorption function of the body, and the quality of auxiliary materials in hot weather is difficult to guarantee.

4. Prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. In early autumn, raccoon has multiple gastrointestinal diseases, which are easily cured by general physical factors. For example, raccoon diarrhea or anorexia caused by excessive feeding can be cured in about 3 days as long as it is reduced in time and fed with therapeutic drugs and digestive aids. Diarrhea or food refusal caused by virus or feed mildew is more difficult to cure. If farmers find this kind of disease, they should isolate the sick raccoon dog in time and treat it with antibiotics. In recent years, diseases caused by diarrhea have shown signs of transmission among the same species, and farmers should pay attention to it.

5. Strengthen management and prevent diseases. On the basis of daily vitamin feeding, auxiliary drugs such as oxytetracycline were added to reduce the prevalence rate. At the same time, regular cleaning, daily removal of feces and do harmless treatment, and then put lime powder under the nest. Spray disinfectant around the litter once a week. Clean and disinfect feces at any time after rain.

6. Isolate the raccoon dog in time and cut off the source of infection. When the raccoon dog is found to be sick or has symptoms, it is necessary to isolate the sick raccoon dog immediately and disinfect the original nest and the surrounding environment. After confirming that the disease raccoon dog is completely cured, it can be returned to the group, and it needs to be specially marked. It cannot be kept as a raccoon dog.

7. Scientific disposal of dead raccoon dog corpses. Dead raccoon dog carcasses carry a variety of disease sources and must not be discarded at will, let alone skinned and fed to other animals. After scientific disposal of the corpse, its nest should be thoroughly disinfected.
