Han Changfu meets with British Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Tera

Han Changfu made positive comments on the good relationship between the agricultural sectors of China and Britain.

On the afternoon of November 12, Minister of Agriculture Han Changfu met with British Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Elizabeth Truss and his party in Beijing to exchange views on deepening agricultural cooperation between the two countries.

Han Changfu made positive comments on the good momentum of cooperation between the agricultural sectors of China and Britain. He pointed out that the two sides should make good use of the high-level exchange mechanism of the Sino-British Joint Committee on Agricultural Cooperation to effectively raise the level and level of agricultural cooperation between the two countries. In order to promote the in-depth development of China-UK agricultural cooperation, Han Changfu suggested: first, to improve the bilateral cooperation mechanism and deepen mutually beneficial and practical cooperation; second, to seize opportunities to create conditions to promote agricultural economic and trade exchanges; and third, to strengthen multilateral framework communication and explore tripartite cooperation models.

Truss said that he fully agrees with Han Changfu's proposal and is willing to join hands with the Chinese side to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and push China-UK agricultural cooperation to a new level under the guidance of the memorandum of understanding.
