Ecological habits of fly maggots in order to raise maggots successfully, we must first understand its ecological habits before raising them.

Biologically, flies belong to "completely abnormal insects", which go through four stages: egg, larva (fly maggot), pupa (fly species) and adult (fly). Among them, the egg duration was 1 day, the maggot duration was 4-6 days, and the pupa duration was 3-4 days. The flies matured sexually after 4 days of Eclosion and began to mate and lay eggs. Flies live up to one month. In actual production, each batch of flies should be eliminated in time after 20-25 days of feeding. Under the condition of artificial culture, flies can reproduce every year as long as the temperature is right. Generally speaking, most of our common flies are red-headed flies and houseflies, but in contrast, houseflies are more adaptable and have miscellaneous feeding habits than red-headed flies, so here we choose to raise houseflies. If you are raising maggots for the first time, it is recommended that you go to a special maggot farm to buy fly species. After being raised for a period of time, the flies can be cultivated by themselves. Next, we will show you how to raise maggots in detail. First of all, let's look at the construction of aquaculture facilities. The construction of breeding facilities the construction of seed fly rooms are specially used to raise adults, that is, flies. It is usually 20 to 40 square meters. You can use the renovation of the old house, which can also save the cost. Screen doors and windows should be installed in the house to prevent flies from escaping. If breeding in winter, need to have heating equipment, preferably equipped with heaters, conditions can also be installed with air conditioning. Require fresh indoor air and light for more than 10 hours a day. Flies are mostly raised in cages. Cage not only covers a small area, the most important thing is that it will not pollute the environment. We can set up a feeding rack in the fly breeding room, which is made of wood and can be divided into two layers. A fly cage made of nylon gauze is placed on each rack and fixed to the rack like a mosquito net. the cage is 100 cm long, 40 cm wide and 80 cm high. The flies are kept in the cage; at the same time, a working opening with a diameter of 30 cm is left in the middle and lower part of the fly cage, which is made of white cloth into a tube for feeding, water feeding and egg laying pads. In addition, a nylon net can be hung in the middle of the cage to increase the habitat area of adult flies. The bottom of the cage is supported on a small flat plate. In addition, each fly cage should also be equipped with a feed plate (a plastic plate 15-20 cm in diameter), a drinking plate (25 cm x 15 cm x 6 cm), a feathering plate (40 cm x 30 cm x 8 cm) and an egg plate for laying eggs (40 cm x 30 cm x 8 cm). The construction of maggot breeding room is mainly used for breeding maggots. Room temperature is required at 20: 28 ℃, humidity 65% to 70%. Other indoor breeding facilities should be determined according to the breeding methods adopted, such as setting up multi-layer breeding racks, maggot pots and heating equipment, which are generally placed on both sides, leaving walkways in the middle, not only making full use of space, but also convenient for operation and management. The construction of maggot breeding greenhouse is specially used to cultivate maggots for protein feed. It can be built into a simple shed, as long as it is windproof and waterproof. Maggot ponds can be designed as long-strip ponds or small rectangular ponds. If it is a long strip pool, the length is unlimited, the width is about 1.2 meters, the two long sides have a certain slope, the angle is 45 degrees, at the same time, the two long sides also have 11-20 cm grooves, the groove height is about 8-10 cm. This is for the convenience of collecting maggots later. If it is a small rectangular pool, the area is usually 3-4 square meters. All four sides have slopes and grooves. The setting of slope and groove can be operated with reference to the long strip pool. The only difference is that maggot buckets can be buried at the corner of the pool, slightly higher than the bottom of the pool, which is also convenient for maggots.
