Female mutagenesis of forest frog is an important measure to increase frog oil production and economic benefit. The so-called female mutagenesis, popularly speaking, is in the frog egg incubation period and tadpole feeding period, take scientific methods to control abnormal tadpoles to become more female frogs, increase the proportion of female frogs.

There are two main methods of female mutagenesis of forest frog, one is temperature control, the other is sex hormone induction. The main results are as follows: (1) temperature control method: because of high temperature, the proportion of male differentiation and development of gonad of Rana chensinensis is higher, while the temperature is low, and the proportion of differentiation to female is higher. Therefore, during the growth and development of tadpoles, especially in the slow growth and metamorphosis period, the daily maximum water temperature is controlled at 13 ℃-18 ℃, which can induce gonads to differentiate into female. If the water temperature exceeds 20 ℃, the deep well water can be continuously injected into the pool when the water temperature is high during the day, and the water in the pool can be discharged at the same time to achieve the purpose of cooling. In general, the female metamorphosis rate of this method can reach more than 70%.

(2) hormone induction method: because estrogen belongs to steroid hormone and is insoluble in water, alcohol should be used to dissolve the drug. In addition, attention should be paid to the dosage. Excessive dosage will lead to deformities in the development of forest frogs, while insufficient dosage will not have a mutagenic effect. The hormone and bait can be fully mixed for feeding, or the medicine can be dissolved and sprinkled directly into the pool.
