Raw and cooked feeding in rural areas, pig farmers have the habit of feeding cooked food, thinking that cooked feeding can reduce feed volume, soften crude fiber, pigs can eat more, and can improve digestibility. According to the type of feed, raw feeding is different from cooked feeding, green and coarse diet is better than raw feeding, the digestibility of dry matter and carbohydrate is also higher than that of clinker, and there is no significant difference in digestibility of protein and crude fiber between them. However, for most concentrate diets, raw feeding is better than cooked feeding. Generally, the nutrients of cooked concentrate will be lost by 5% to 10%. The average daily gain of pigs fed with raw feed is 10% higher than that of cooked feeding, and each kilogram of gross weight can save 0.2-0.3 kg of concentrate. There is no difference in dry matter digestibility, and protein digestibility in raw feeding is higher than that in cooked feeding.

Due to the high water content and dilute soup, the secretion of digestive juice is reduced, the gastric emptying is accelerated, and the stay time of feed in stomach is shortened, which is bound to reduce the digestibility of feed nutrients. Thick feeding, especially raw dry feeding and raw wet feeding, can strengthen the masticatory function of pigs, promote the secretion of digestive juice, prolong the time of feed staying in the stomach and improve the digestibility of nutrients. The dry and wet degree of dry feed mixed with water or dry feed mixed with green feed should be squeezed and dispersed. Small meals and multiple meals must be determined according to the type, age, season and feed nature of pigs, and can not be generalized. Suckling piglets have small stomach volume and weak digestion, which are mainly induced to eat from the age of 7 days, but there is no limit to the number of meals; from the age of 20 days to weaning, they can be fed more than 6 meals a day; the digestive function of the feed of newly weaned piglets is in a growing stage, it can be fed 4 to 5 tons a day; sows with piglets and sows in the later stage of pregnancy need more nutrients, which can be fed 4 meals a day; shelf pigs, big pigs, empty sows, boars can be fed 3 meals a day.
