Feed the soft-shelled turtle. Set up a simple bait basket. In order to prevent the soft-shelled turtle from crawling back and forth to cause feed spilling in the pond, a simple bait basket can be used. The basket is made of plastic or wood, and the bottom of the basket is nailed with bamboo or wood nails. the distance between the nails is that the soft-shelled turtle's neck can reach in and the body cannot enter. The bait is placed in the bait basket so that the turtle can only stick its head into the feeding basket.

Feed the soft-shelled turtle. The feed is of the right size. Soft-shelled turtles first bite the food and then dive into the water to swallow, if the bait is too large, it is not convenient to ingest, so it is best to make pellet feed suitable for large and small soft-shelled turtles. When the soft-shelled turtle weighs less than 10 grams, the mouth crack is 0.5 cm 1.1 cm, and the feed diameter is less than 0.5 cm and the length is less than 1 cm. When the soft-shelled turtle weight is 10 grams, the mouth crack is 0.7 cm and 1.4 cm, and the feed diameter is less than 0.7 cm and the length is less than 1.2 cm. When the soft-shelled turtle weighs 50 grams, the mouth crack is 0.8 cm in diameter and 1.4 cm in length. The soft-shelled turtle weighs more than 150 grams and the mouth crack is more than 1 centimeter. the feed diameter is less than 1 centimeter and the length is about 1.5 centimeters. If the palatable bait is fed according to different specifications, the feed utilization rate can reach more than 90%.

Feed the turtle 3. Add an adhesive. The addition of binders to the diet, such as carboxypotassium cellulose, gluten flour, algin, konjac powder, etc., can enhance the elasticity and adhesion of the feed, which is not easy to disperse in the presence of water, and effectively improve the utilization rate of the feed. Feed the turtle

4. Reasonable feeding. The dietary protein content of juvenile soft-shelled turtle is required to be 50%, and that of juvenile adult soft-shelled turtle is about 45%. Feeding throughout the year should grasp the principle of "light at both ends and heavy in the middle", that is, less feeding in spring and late autumn, more from summer to early autumn, generally accounting for 70% and 80% of the annual feeding from summer to early autumn. The soft-shelled turtle usually climbs to the shore to bask its back 1-2 hours after sunrise in the morning and before sunset in the afternoon, which is not suitable for feeding, so it is appropriate to control the feeding time at about 8: 00 a.m. and 6: 00 p.m. The amount of feeding should be reasonable, too little will affect the growth of soft-shelled turtles, too much will lead to waste. In general, the artificial feeding amount of juvenile soft-shelled turtle is 5%-8% of body weight, and that of adult soft-shelled turtle is 3%-5%. If the fresh animal feed is 10%-15% of the body weight, it is appropriate to finish it within 1 hour after feeding.

5. Keep the feeding environment quiet. Soft-shelled turtles have the characteristics of being quiet and frightened. After feeding, a large number of soft-shelled turtles feed on the table, and if disturbed, they will immediately dive into the water, resulting in a large number of bait scattered into the pool and wasted. Therefore, after feeding, the environment around the turtle pond must be kept quiet.
