In the middle of March, the water temperature in Suzhou is generally about 9mur15 ℃. The fertilized eggs hatch tadpoles in about 5 days, and the hatching rate is about 85%. The main factor affecting the hatching of fertilized eggs is the temperature: when the water temperature is lower than 6 ℃, the hatching speed and hatching rate are significantly reduced. Light itself has no effect on the hatching of fertilized eggs, but light can affect hatching by increasing the temperature of the water. We have done such an experiment in which a group of fertilized eggs is divided into two halves, half of the eggs are placed in a dark environment with about 11 bars of water temperature, sufficient oxygen and no light, and the other half of the eggs are placed at the same temperature, sufficient oxygen and light. After 5 days of hatching, the hatching rates are 89% and 85%, respectively.

After hatching, tadpoles grow hindlimbs in about 25 days, forelimbs in 33 days, metamorphosis in 39 days, and metamorphosis rate above 90%. The growth and development of tadpoles is closely related to temperature and food. when the water temperature is 10-20 ℃, the feeding activity of tadpoles is active, and the feeding activity of tadpoles above 23 ℃ and below 8 ℃ decreases obviously. The newly hatched tadpoles mainly ate the gelatin membrane, accounting for half of the animal food and plant food before the hindlimb grew, and mainly ate the animal food after the hindlimb grew, and the tadpoles generally ate less food about 7 days before metamorphosis. After the tadpole limbs grow out, the tail does not feed before absorption, but mainly depends on absorbing the nutrition of the tail to survive. At this time, the Chinese forest frog mostly moves near the water source and returns to the water in case of emergency.
