Feeding and management of empty sows

The mission of an empty sow. In this period, due to a variety of reasons, sows consume more nutrients, and most of them are thin and weak. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen nutrition and quickly regain fat to meet its needs for protein, energy, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

The feeding method of empty sows. The feeding method varies from pig to pig, and the short-term optimal feeding method is generally adopted for reserve sows, and the feeding effect is the most obvious from 10 days to 14 days before breeding, while the thinner empty sows are fed with compound fat and breeding optimization method, which can reach 60% ~ 7% of the body weight at first and should not be overfat. Then it was changed to the basic nutritional feed of medium and low energy, and the optimal feeding was given a few days before and after mating.

Management of empty sows. To ensure adequate sunshine and fresh air, often clean the pig house, keep the pig house and pig body clean, and exercise properly.

Feeding and management of pregnant sows

Good feeding and management of pregnant sows can prevent the occurrence of stillbirth and abortion, obtain multi-quality piglets, lay the foundation for smooth lactation during lactation, and is also the key link to improve the efficiency of sow breeding. Due to the continuous growth of the fetus, the development of the uterus and other organs, and the reserve of nutrients for postpartum lactation, more nutrients will be needed.

Pay attention to the two critical periods of pregnant sows. The first critical period is about 20 days after pregnancy in sows, to meet nutrition, prevent stimulation and prevent disease. The second critical period is about 90 days after pregnancy in sows, to strengthen nutrition, compress feed volume, that is, gradually reduce green roughage, increase concentrate, it is best to increase part of animal feed.

The feeding mode of pregnant sows. There are mainly three ways to pay attention to the middle, before coarseness and after refinement, and to improve by stages. The sow diet must have a certain volume and comprehensive nutrition, which can make the sow feel full without oppressing the fetus. Laxative feed (such as wheat bran) should be added appropriately to prevent constipation from causing miscarriage. Diets must be diversified, with good palatability and comprehensive nutrition. After 3 months, the amount of green roughage should be limited, inferior fodder should be prohibited, heavy or dry materials should be fed, and adequate drinking water should be provided.

Key points of management of pregnant sows. Appropriate exercise in the second trimester, less exercise and more rest in the third trimester (prenatal 1 month), one-lap feeding to ensure fresh air and good hygiene in the house.
