The colorful pheasant in the United States is popularized quickly, mainly using two methods: ground free breeding and captive breeding. Later, some people changed from captivity to cage. the cage is 3 meters long, 0.7 meters wide and 1.5 meters high. it is divided into three layers and four grids, each raising 8-9, and a group of cages can raise about 100. Practice has proved that the benefit of cage culture is higher than that of bulk culture and captivity culture. To sum up experience, caged has six major advantages.

First, you can generally raise 4-5 animals per square meter, such as 100 only covers an area of about 30 square meters; if you switch to cages, you only need a set of cages, covering an area of less than 3 square meters.

Second, the province invests in the construction of a chicken house capable of raising 100 chickens in bulk. According to the lowest cost of electricity per square meter, it requires an investment of 3000 yuan, while the production of a set of steel barbed wire cages costs only 400 yuan, such as using bamboo and wood to make cages.

Third, one thing is used to build chicken sheds according to the requirements of free-range breeding, only pheasants can be raised, but it is not convenient to raise other livestock and poultry: cages can be used to raise pigeons, rabbits, etc. It is more convenient to change and move at will.

Fourth, it is convenient to manage cages with small area and convenient cleaning; caged groups are small, so it is not easy to rush for food; it provides convenience for epidemic prevention and control and can reduce the labor intensity of managers. Under the same work, 1000 animals can be managed in free culture and 2000 in cages. More than doubled.

Fifth, the prevention and control of pecking pheasants have wild bad habits. Such as improper management, mutual feathering, so that the feathers are not easy to grow together, affecting the price; and the use of cage can be avoided. The practice is: cover the doors and windows with sacks or group bags when the light is strong during the day, so that the indoor brightness is reduced, and the shielding is opened for ventilation at night and during feeding. In a darker environment, feather pecking can be avoided, so that when the chicken is fed to meet the market specifications, the feathers can be kept plump and beautiful, and the price is higher.

Sixth, the scope of saving feed in cage is small, which limits the activities of pheasants, which can increase the feed utilization rate by 10%, and the daily gain can reach 3-4 grams. Under the same feeding condition, the feed consumption is less, the weight gain is faster, the breeding time is shortened, the market is put on the market earlier, and the economic benefit is significantly improved.
