In summer, it is easy to cause the colony potential to decline, mainly for many reasons: first, the night is short and the day is long, the temperature difference between day and night is small, and the daytime temperature is higher; second, the lack of honey source for as long as 2-3 months, it is easy to cause the queen bee to stop spawning; third, wasps, toads and other attacks and pesticide poisoning, easy to cause extreme weakening of the colony. In order to make the bees safely through the hot summer, the following work should be done.

1. Site selection

Summer bees should be placed in the shade of ventilated trees, close to places with clean water sources. Set up a box rack with a height of 50 cm to 80 cm to prevent Rain Water from invading the nest. Aldicarb can be spread on the side of the box shelf to prevent the invasion of ants.

two。 Replace the queen bee

In order to prevent the queen bee from aging and affect spawning, more than 80% of the queen bee colony should be replaced with the new queen bee cultivated in that year from April to May every year.

3. Leave enough feed

In addition to keeping 2: 3 boxes of honey spleen and one box of pollen spleen in each colony, each colony should also store 2 / 3 boxes of honey spleen and 1 / 2 boxes of pollen spleen in order to replenish the colony that is short of material at any time.

4. Reward feeding

Due to the lack of honey and powder sources in summer, the queen bee lays eggs. The excess honey spleen should be extracted in time and rewarded and fed at the right time.

5. Prevent and eliminate enemy damage

Actively hunt, trap and kill wasps, toads and other enemy damage. Prevent pesticide poisoning to avoid economic losses.
