Summer is the prime time for raising meat ducklings, but the high temperature and humidity environment is easy to cause fecal decay and fermentation, breed pathogenic microorganisms and induce epidemic diseases, which is disadvantageous to the growth of ducklings. In order to improve the survival rate of ducklings in summer, the following "eight essentials" must be achieved:

First, the feeding density should be reduced. Prevent ducks from crowding, stacking, accumulating temperature and stuffing circles, and add water basin and food trough.

Second, the feed formula should be adjusted. The feed formula of ducklings at different growth stages is different. In summer, the feed formula should keep the protein level as low as possible on the premise of meeting all the essential amino acids, so as to reduce the digestion and heat dissipation of feed.

Third, it is necessary to change the way of feeding. Net breeding should be adopted to reduce the contact between ducklings and feces, reduce the spread of epidemic disease, reduce the incidence, and reduce the nutritional consumption and heat production of ducks.

Fourth, the feeding time should be optimized. Try to feed in the cooler hours from 8 to 10:00 in the morning and at night.

Fifth, it is necessary to reduce sunlight exposure. To build a tall and spacious duck house, the roof can be drenched or sprayed with water during high temperatures, or the roof can be brushed with white ash to breathe.

Sixth, fresh feed should be provided. During the period of high temperature and humidity, the feed is placed for too long, or the feed in the trough stagnates for too long, which will cause fermentation deterioration, so fresh feed should be provided.

Seventh, keep the environment quiet. In the hot period, it is necessary to avoid sudden shock and noise to disturb the ducks, so as to minimize the activity of the ducks.

Eighth, disinfection and epidemic prevention should be carried out. Do a good job of disinfection to prevent the breeding of flies and mosquitoes and protect ducks from pests.
