There are four points that need to be paid attention to in fox breeding.

Foxes have high economic value. Its main product is fox skin, which belongs to large capillar. it has the advantages of tough and wear-resistant, soft and lightweight, thermal insulation and beautiful appearance. It is a high-quality raw material for making fur products such as leather collar, cap, leather mattress and so on. How to raise reasonably and let it create higher value, we should pay attention to the following four points.

First, pay attention to the breeding of fine varieties. In the breeding of fox breeds, we should try our best to use the following two points as "reference" for high-quality breeding:

1. Choose blue foxes or colored foxes with small size, fast growth, good leather, strong disease resistance and multi-color fur to meet the needs of the market for a complete range of fox skins.

2. Choose foxes with large size, high reproduction rate, good breeding, bright coat color and excellent fluff varieties to adapt to the changeful market. The remaining foxes should be selected once a year, leaving good breeds, leaving no parental breeds, eliminating inferior ones, and ensuring the purity and quality of foxes.

Second, catch timely breeding. Fox mating period is only once a year, the time is relatively strong, the wrong time will be empty. At ordinary times, we should observe carefully, grasp the characteristics of the sexual cycle changes of male and female foxes, strictly control the oestrus of female foxes, breed them timely and accurately, and work out a reasonable plan according to the individual breeding ability and characteristics of male foxes. In the right time, the fox farm environment should be quiet, and the male fox should be fed with nutritious animal feed to ensure the healthy body condition and good semen quality of the male fox.

Third, pay attention to reasonable breeding. According to the biological characteristics of fox breeding and hair changing in season, the whole year can be divided into 8 different feeding periods, such as mating period and pregnancy period, and the feeding management is different in different periods. For example, in the pregnant period of the female fox, the diet should be nutritionally complete, fresh, palatable and properly fed. The feed calories of silver foxes in the early stage of pregnancy are 550 kcal ~ 600 kcal, and animal feed accounts for 65% ~ 70%. In the later stage of pregnancy, the calorie of feed is 700 kcal ~ 750 kcal, animal feed accounts for 70% ~ 75%, and rations are 600 g ~ 700 g per day. The arctic fox is 700 kcal ~ 850 kcal, animal feed accounts for 70% ~ 75%, and the mouthful is 700 g ~ 800 g each. If the feeding is improper, it will cause fetal absorption, stillbirth, fetal failure, abortion and other pregnancy accidents.

Fourth, pay attention to epidemic prevention and sterilization. Canine distemper, viral enteritis and viral encephalitis are the three major infectious diseases that affect the normal growth of foxes, as well as gastroenteritis, colds, pneumonia and other common diseases. In view of these, the policy of prevention is more important than control, the combination of prevention and control, and giving priority to prevention should be adopted. Strengthen veterinary health and epidemic prevention system, cut off the introduction of external pathogens; strict feed quality inspection, good disease from mouth to customs; pay close attention to the health status of herds, timely detection of diseased animals, timely diagnosis, regular vaccination. At the same time, we should also pay attention to the cleanliness and hygiene of the fox house and disinfect it regularly.
