Key points of fattening donkeys in winter

Donkeys are herbivorous animals, strong disease resistance, easy to raise, good management, rapid reproduction, stocking, captivity can be, and small investment, very suitable for farmers to carry out small-scale breeding. After short-term fattening in winter, the weight of the young donkey can reach 150~200 kg, and the weight of the adult donkey can reach 250~300 kg. I. Selection of fattening donkeys

First choice Guanzhong donkey and Texas donkey. Guanzhong donkey is mainly produced in Guanzhong plain area of Shaanxi Province, and its weight can reach 250~290 kg after fattening; Dezhou donkey is mainly produced in Dezhou City of Shandong Province, and its weight can reach about 260 kg after fattening.

II. Deworming and strengthening stomach before fattening

After 2~3 days, the donkey can be treated with anthelmintics and stomach strengthening. Insect buster is used to drive out internal parasites of donkeys. The dosage of its powder is 0.1g per kilogram of body weight orally, and the dosage of injection subcutaneous injection is 0.2ml per kilogram of body weight. Stomach is usually carried out after 3 days of anthelmintic treatment, and 60~100 grams of artificial salt or 450 grams of Jianwei Powder are orally taken to each donkey.

III. Fattening and feeding of young donkeys

For small donkeys purchased from other places, training should be strengthened to gradually adapt to local feeding conditions. At the beginning, corn, wheat, etc. can be ground into powder, boiled into gruel and added with a little sugar to induce its intake. After a few days, in addition to normal grass feeding, 80~100 grams of concentrate are fed daily, and gradually increase later. In the whole fattening period of the young donkey, a total of about 500 kg of concentrate is required.

IV. Fattening and Feeding of Adult Donkeys

For the adult donkeys purchased from other places, they should feed some grass, bran and other digestible feeds first, and feed less frequently, feed sixty or seventy percent full each time, and then enter the fattening period after eating grass normally. The mixed roughage in fattening period mainly consists of high quality hay, soybean stalk powder and corn stalk powder, and the mixed concentrate is generally 50% bean cake, 30% corn flour and 20% bran. Fattening donkeys can be fed concentrate twice during the day, only coarse feed at night, feed 80% full each time, after about two months can be slaughtered for sale. Adult donkey fattening concentrate, coarse feed to be selected according to local natural resources and market conditions, such as coarse feed available cotton shell, bean straw powder, corn straw powder, etc., concentrate available peanut cake, bean cake, cooked sorghum or soybean powder, etc. Fattening period to limit the amount of exercise donkeys, and keep the pen and environment clean and dry.
