Meat ducklings grow particularly rapidly, have high requirements for feeding management, are sensitive to the environment, and are relatively delicate. A little carelessness will cause growth retardation and even increase mortality. Therefore, scientific feeding management is needed, mainly from the following aspects:

1. The choice of ducklings.

Meat commercial ducklings must come from excellent healthy female ducks. The breeding female ducks have been immunized with duck plague, avian cholera, viral hepatitis and other vaccines before laying eggs, so as to ensure that the ducklings will not get sick during the brooding period. The ducklings selected are basically the same size, weighing 55~60 grams, lively, without big navel, tilted head and crutch feet, etc., the coat color is wax yellow, too dark or too light are eliminated.

2. Grouping.

Large groups of ducklings are not conducive to management, environmental conditions are not easy to control, and it is easy to startle or squeeze death. Therefore, in order to improve the brooding rate, group management is carried out, with 300~500 ducklings per group.

3. Drinking water.

Water is crucial to the growth and development of ducklings. Before eating, ducklings must drink water, which is also called boiled water or tidal water. Adding proper amount of vitamin C, glucose and antibiotics to the drinking water of ducklings will have better effect, which not only increases nutrition but also improves the disease resistance of ducklings. The number of drinking fountains provided should be sufficient, and water should not be cut off and should be prevented from overflowing.

4. Start eating.

Ducklings 12~24 hours after hatching or when 1/3 of the ducklings in the ducklings begin to look for food for the first time, raising meat ducklings with complete small pellet feed effect is better, if there is no such condition, can also be used to feed half-cooked rice and egg yolk, a few days later to switch to nutrient-rich complete feed.

5. Methods of feeding.

The ducklings of the first week of age should be allowed to eat freely, keep the feed plate often fed, and not feed too much at a time to prevent the ducklings from getting sick or wasting feed due to contamination for a long time. Therefore, it is necessary to feed less often, feeding 35 grams per duck in the first week, 105 grams in the second week and 165 grams in the third week.

6. Strict attention to disease prevention

Meat ducks are intensively raised online, the population is large and concentrated, and epidemic diseases are easy to occur. Therefore, in addition to strengthening daily feeding management, special efforts should be made to prevent epidemic diseases. Feed to 20 days of age, each muscle injection duck plague attenuated virus vaccine 1 ml;30 days of age, each muscle injection poultry cholera vaccine 2 ml, usually available 0.01%~0.02% potassium permanganate drinking water, the effect is also very good.
