1. Overwintering management

After reaching October every year, the temperature drops below 15 ℃ and the forest frogs come down the mountain one after another. In the meantime, in addition to the commercial frogs being harvested, the rest of the breeding frogs and young frogs went down to the gully stream, ready to choose the overwintering ground for hibernation.

There are two main ways for forest frogs to overwintering in Fenggou frog farm: one is to winter naturally with the help of ditch streams or reservoirs, and the other is to overwinter in overwintering ponds. The former forest frog farm ditch stream is wider, the water source is abundant, and there is a small reservoir with larger water surface, which can be used as a natural overwintering place for forest frogs. Overwintering pool overwintering is built in the place where forest frogs are concentrated down the mountain, making it overwintering in the pool.

The main points of management during the overwintering period are:

⑴ adjusts the water level to prevent water cut off or ice melting. To keep the water level deep enough, it is generally not less than 1.5 meters. To prevent the water cut off in the severe winter, ensure that there is a 1 meter deep water layer under the ice and be in a state of flow. If you hibernate in the river, you should also pay attention to check the flooded condition of the river. If you find that the river is flooded, you should try to dredge the river in time to prevent it from drying up and killing the forest frog.

⑵ should prevent and reduce human interference, mainly to prevent ice-breaking fishing.

⑶ prevents natural enemies, the main enemies during hibernation are rodents, water rats and carnivorous fish, and its prevention method is to put rat clip or rat poison.

two。 Out-of-river period management

In spring, the forest frog wakes up from hibernation and leaves the hibernation place to come to the breeding ground. This process calls out stings and out of the river. Closed ditches to raise frogs, generally let them out of the river naturally, that is, let the forest frogs that overwintered in the overwintering pond come out of the pond and come ashore, where people catch and collect frogs and send them to the breeding grounds.

The difference in the period of going out of the river varies according to the speed of the temperature rise, and it should be dealt with according to the specific local conditions.
