After entering the autumn, the external honey sources gradually decreased, and the bee colony management gradually shifted from the production of bee products such as royal jelly and honey to the preparation of bee colony overwintering, especially the beekeepers who were transferred to other places from September to prepare for the overwintering of bee colony.

According to the actual situation of beekeeping production in recent years, the high incidence period of honeybee pesticide poisoning is from September to November every year. The main reasons are: the reduction of external honey sources, the decrease of bee colony grain reserve after long-time transportation, and the high enthusiasm of bees to go out to collect honey, but the overall resistance of honeybee colony is relatively weak. When pesticides are used in the outside world, it is easy to cause bee poisoning and cause a large number of bee deaths. In addition, because the colony potential of the transferred bee colony is relatively strong, under the sunny weather condition of lack of external honey sources and high enthusiasm for collecting honey, the phenomenon of bee theft is easy to occur, affecting the normal life order of the colony and even causing the death of a large number of bees. In order to vent their private anger, some beekeepers deliberately add pesticides to honey to induce bee colony poisoning from time to time.

The experience from the practice of beekeeping is that the one-year plan for beekeeping lies in autumn. Because the colony situation in autumn will directly affect the colony overwintering, and it is also the basis for the success of beekeeping production in the coming year. Therefore, in the process of beekeeping production and management in autumn, great attention should be paid to the prevention of pesticide poisoning. Pay attention to the following points:

Strengthen feeding and management

After entering autumn, some beekeepers think that the main production stage has passed, gradually relax the feeding and management of the colony, leave less feed in the colony, and think that the bee potential can be restored and strengthened in the spring next year, which often causes a large number of worker bees to go out to collect in fine weather in autumn, and the population declines, at the same time, it also causes great hidden danger of pesticide poisoning.

Choose the overwintering place carefully

In addition to having the necessary conditions for overwintering, we must also consider the use of pesticides around us, and try our best to choose sites around the foothills and barren slopes to overwinter; if pesticides may be sprayed around, we should consult with local farmers in advance and require timely measures to be taken to prevent the occurrence of pesticide poisoning. At the same time, it is best to avoid multiple beehives overwintering in close range.

Prepare for prevention and control

Once poisoning occurs, effective measures should be taken as soon as possible to reduce colony loss. Specific measures include: ⑴ spraying water to wash the spleen to remove toxic feed; ⑵ feeding 1 ∶ 1 syrup or 1 ∶ 4 honey to dilute toxicity; ⑶ feeding antidotes, such as organophosphorus pesticide poisoning, can be sprayed with 0.05% atropine sulfate 0.1% or 0.1% 0.2% phosphate solution; ⑷ relocated as soon as possible to move the colony 5 kilometers away from the application area to restore the population potential in time.
