The technique of culturing catfish in cage

Catfish cultured in cages, 17.5 kg per square meter, the economic benefit is 5-10 times that of grass carp and carp. The main technologies are as follows:

First, set up net cages and raise them at different levels

Choose spacious waters such as streams, lakes and reservoirs with fresh water quality, high dissolved oxygen and suitable pH value to set up cages. The mesh size and cage area were determined according to the different growth stages of river catfish. Fish fry cage, mesh 0.8-1 cm, area 8 square meters; fish fry cage, mesh 1.5-2 cm, area 12-14 square meters; adult fish cage, mesh 3 cm, length × width × height 5 m × 5 m × 2.5 m. Generally, closed cages are used with a depth of 2 meters.

Catfish often cannibalize each other in the larval stage, so timely screening and box feeding is the key to improve the survival rate of river catfish. When the fish body length reaches 10 cm, it is transferred to the fish species cage for breeding, and when the body length reaches 16.5 cm, it is transferred to the adult fish cage culture.

Second, scientific ingredient, "four fixed" bait

When the fish fry first entered the box, they were fed with enough fresh bait such as water earthworms to make them gradually adapt to the cage environment. When the fish species reach 5-7 cm, start feeding after fine processing, and add 10-15% fresh fish paste bait for food attraction and domestication. In addition to the necessary nutrients, 1-2% mineral and vitamin additives should be added to artificial bait. The crude protein content of the diet was 50% in the early stage, 45% in the middle stage and 40% in the later stage. Fish meal, soybean meal, wheat, corn, blood meal and silkworm pupa powder can be fed 3-5 times a day. River catfish have the habit of feeding at night, so we should pay special attention to increasing the feeding at 11-12:00 at night. When the fish body length is 10-16 cm, the feeding amount is 6-10% of the total weight of the fish species, and the body length is more than 16 cm is 3-5%. Bait should be timed, located, qualitatively and quantitatively.

Strengthen management and prevent and cure fish diseases

Put the seedlings into the box as early as possible. After entering the box, check the cage regularly to prevent escape and theft. Clean the cage regularly to remove dirt and ensure smooth communication between the inner and outer water bodies. Observe the eating and growth of the fish every day. The growth rate was measured regularly. To strengthen the prevention and control of fish diseases, before body length 16 cm, sprinkle the cage with 10ppm quicklime water 1-2 times every 5-10 days; after 16 cm body length, sprinkle it 1-2 times a month with 15ppm quicklime water. During the first few days of entering the box, 0.5-1% garlic must be mixed into the bait every day. After that, the medicine was used every 10-20 days, until the fry was 16 cm long and then it was used once every 1-2 months.
