The scorpion is small and weak, and its mobility, self-defense and foraging ability are all very poor. It is easy to be eaten by other scorpions, or die because it cannot eat food. The mortality rate of artificial scorpion breeding is very high at this stage. Therefore, raising scorpion well and making it molt and grow smoothly is the key to the success of artificial scorpion breeding. So how can we raise scorpions?

First of all, the pregnant scorpion waiting to give birth should be raised separately. Sterilize small containers with smooth inner walls (such as small cups and cans), fill them with sand 2cm thick, then carefully put the scorpion into them, and cover the mouth of the bottle with a damp sponge 1cm thick, so that it can maintain a certain amount of humidity in the bottle and filter the air. It is also very convenient to manage.

Secondly, the scorpion should be separated in time. The baby scorpion begins to molt for the first time on the back of the mother scorpion 4-6 days after birth, and do not separate the mother scorpion from the baby scorpion immediately after molting. Because the baby scorpion has just molted its skin and its body is very weak, premature separation affects the survival rate of the baby scorpion. After a week or so, when the baby scorpion is very strong, it will be separated from the female scorpion. The separated scorpions should be kept in smooth plastic pots, small vats or special feeding boxes. No matter where it is raised, it is necessary to spread a thin layer of sand at the bottom and pile up some broken tiles with gaps in the center for the scorpion to live and play.

Third, feed in time to prevent scorpions from maiming each other. Under suitable conditions, the scorpion begins to eat after 5 days of separation, when the foraging ability of the scorpion is poor, so it is necessary to put in enough 2-3-year-old small yellow powder insects to feed the scorpions, usually in the evening, and pick up the remaining yellow powder insects in the next morning and throw them in the evening.

Fourth, it is necessary to control the temperature and humidity to promote the scorpion to molt smoothly. The baby scorpion is very sensitive to temperature and humidity, the general temperature is 35 ℃, the air humidity is 80%, and the soil water content is 15%. The environment temperature is low, the scorpion grows slowly, too dry is easy to dehydrate and die, too humid is easy to get sick.

Fifth, to maintain hygiene, timely removal of surplus food and sick and dead scorpion, scorpion afraid of shock, to keep the environment quiet.

If properly managed, the scorpion will molt for the second time 20-30 days after the first molting. After the second molting, the scorpion body increased significantly, the mobility and resistance increased significantly, and the mortality rate was greatly reduced, which can be transferred to the general scorpion pond.
