With regard to the technical problems of artificial breeding of hares, there are few research data at present, therefore, it is very unsystematic, many places are still blank, some opinions are different, some are even wrong. At present, there is a certain phenomenon of hype in the society. Therefore, draw your attention to the following issues:

First, identify the true and false hares. Some people take advantage of the similarity between the appearance of rabbits and rabbits to sell the young rabbits of similar coat colors (such as Belgian rabbits) as hares. In addition to the differences in ecological and anatomical characteristics, there are also some differences in appearance. The rabbit's ear is long and thick, the coat is smooth, the hair fiber is short, although the hair color is similar, but relatively simple; in the case of people watching, the performance is gentle and serene, can move freely. On the other hand, the hare has short ears, protruding eyes, mental uneasiness, numbness of coat, complex coat formed by a mixture of colors (a hair fiber has 3 or 5 colors), obvious virtual hair tip, which is longer than that of meat rabbit; the adhesion of the coat is poor, easy to lose hair, and shows panic in the environment of onlookers.

Second, investigate first and then invest. Some people believe in advertisements or publications and invest blindly without careful investigation. If you are interested in this project, you can visit the relevant rabbit farm. First, look at the livestock production and operation license; second, look at the breeding scale; third, look at the state of the hare to distinguish between true and false. If it is a hare bred in its own rabbit farm, there should be rabbits of different ages in the rabbit nest. If it is caught from the wild, there are only adult rabbits, young rabbits and young rabbits in the rabbit farm, and there are no newborn rabbits. If it is a hare that has been domesticated for a long time, it is more serene and docile in the cage. On the contrary, the hare, which had just been caught from the wild, ran frantically in the cage.

Third, bionics is the key to the success of breeding. The key to the success of artificial breeding lies in whether the hare is provided with bionic environment and bionic feed. The so-called bionic environment refers to the living space of the hare. The hare lives in the wild, has a large activity area, can move freely, find feed freely, have shelter, eat and rest regularly (daytime and night out). It mainly feeds on the stems, leaves and seeds of plants. It is not successful to raise rabbits according to the way they are raised.

Fourth, raise scientifically and grasp the transition well. Practice shows that it is difficult to successfully breed adult rabbits caught in captivity, and the breeding rate of rabbits domesticated from small rabbits is also very low. Generally speaking, after 1 or 2 births, they will no longer give birth. The author believes that the adult hare can not reproduce because the environment has changed greatly. From the beginning of domestication of rabbits, most of them can be bred; the main reasons for reproductive obstacles or low reproduction rate: one is lack of exercise, the other is over-nutrition. Due to lack of exercise, feeding artificial feed, resulting in fat hoarding in the body, resulting in ovarian fat infiltration, affecting physiological function and reproductive hormone imbalance. Therefore, gradual domestication, scientific feeding and proper exercise are the key to improve the breeding rate of hare.

Fifth, prevent escape, harm and disturbance. Rabbits have strong ability to survive in the wild, strong resistance, and few diseases, so it is not possible to have large-scale diseases at ordinary times. In particular, the incidence of disease is low under the condition of low density, but it may be increased under the condition of cage, which should be paid more attention. The first priority is to prevent escape, the second is to prevent animal damage, and the third is to prevent disturbance. Wild stocking must use metal mesh as a fence with a height of about 2.5 meters, leaving no gaps, pay attention to the corrosion of metal mesh after long-term wind and sun exposure, and pay more attention to abnormal damage (such as man-made damage, mechanical damage, etc.). The hare has many natural enemies, including eagles flying in the sky, carnivores running on the ground (such as weasel, fox, wild dog, wild cat) and mice, and snakes crawling on the ground, all of which cause certain harm to the hare, which should be taken seriously. Under caged conditions, the hare farm should avoid the entry of non-breeders, and pay attention to the quiet environment to prevent disturbance. Under the condition of free breeding, due to the setting of nests and fixed-point feeding, the activity frequency of rabbits in these areas is higher, and attention should be paid to reduce the entry of non-breeders and avoid the intrusion of other animals. Especially in the spring and autumn breeding season, we should be more careful.

Artificial breeding of rabbits is a new thing, and there are many technical links that need to be explored and practiced. The above is only a personal opinion, for reference only.
