Caged chickens are raised in cages made of wire welding, and then different types of cages are designed according to chicken breed, sex and age, including chicken cages, breeding cages, laying cages, breeder cages and rooster cages, which can increase feeding density and save feed, but caged laying hens are generally prone to three common diseases: fatty liver syndrome, egg drop syndrome and fatigue. The disease and the methods of prevention and treatment are introduced as follows:

Fatty liver syndrome

It is more common in high-yield laying hens. On the surface, the laying hens are in good condition, but the laying rate decreases gradually, or the laying rate does not reach the peak, or the peak period is shortened. Sometimes seriously sick chickens die suddenly. As the incidence of fatty liver in laying hens is very common, and its normal is not easy to be detected, so it is easy to be ignored by farmers. Autopsy showed that the fat deposition in the liver of laying hens was serious, and too much fat was deposited around the organs such as liver and kidney, which led to the disorder of fat metabolism caused by liver bleeding. Prevention and control methods: 1. Increase the feed protein level by 1%-2%, and add a certain amount of wheat bran, for the sporadic death of overfattened chickens in the later stage of feeding, add Zhuangyou (bile acid powder, aminobutyric acid, xylo oligosaccharide) 500g per 1000 jacks, continuous use for 15-20 days can significantly control death, and then continue to use the effect is better; 2. Restrict feeding before laying eggs and control the weight of chickens.

Egg drop syndrome

The disease is common in laying hens that lay brown eggs. When the laying rate dropped to 20% to 50%, the quality of eggs also decreased, such as thin shell eggs, soft shell eggs, colorless eggs, waist bulging eggs, sand preserved eggs and so on. The hatching rate of breeding eggs decreased, the stillbirth rate increased, even if the chicks came out of the shell, the vitality was weak and the survival rate was low. The diseased chicken excreted soft feces and green feces; the chicken crown was bluish purple, showing neurotic symptoms; food intake was not reduced. Prevention and control methods: 1. Zhuangyou (bile acid powder, aminobutyric acid, xylo oligosaccharide) and vitamin B12 are added to the diet to protect the liver and recuperate the intestines; to control infection, 0.2% oxytetracycline or 0.2% furazolidone can be added. two。 Increase the feed protein level and keep it at 18%-19%.

Fatigue of caged laying hens

It is mainly due to lack of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D in chicken diet, or improper proportion of calcium and phosphorus, as well as long-term lack of exercise, which often occurs shortly after laying or in the early stage of egg laying. Sick chickens often lie on their side in the cage, can not stand, and then paralyzed; slow response, many diseased chickens have wing and leg bone fractures, the bone wall is thin and brittle. Prevention and control methods: 1. Add the right amount of vitamin C or vitamin D before laying. The available phosphorus in the feed was kept at 0.45%. The sick chickens were injected with vitamin D50 international unit intramuscularly to promote the absorption of calcium. two。 Keep feeding formula feed. 3. Raise sick chickens on the ground and let them move freely.
