After a period of breeding, the young frogs can enter the adult frog culture after the individual grows to 50 ~ 100 grams.

Selection and Design of Adult Frog Pond

Adult frogs have stronger adaptability and predation ability than young frogs, so the area of adult frog breeding ground is larger, such as various natural ponds, pit ponds, fish ponds, weedy depressions, rice fields, and so on. Ponds can also be built under melon sheds, shade trees and grape trellis in the courtyard behind the house.

The hind legs of adult frogs are developed and powerful. they are not only good at jumping, but also dig holes and climb trees on walls. Therefore, whether indoor or outdoor frog ponds, there should be anti-escape facilities. In order to prevent the bullfrog from escaping, there is no foothold land around the frog pond, the water depth should be at least above the depth where the bullfrog's hind legs cannot reach the bottom, and the pool wall is 30cm ~ 40cm above the water surface.

Hidden dead corners or caves should not be set up in bullfrog ponds, because dead corners and caves are disadvantageous to the growth of bullfrogs. If adult frogs want to survive the winter outdoors, they only need to deepen the pool water to about 1 meter, and they can survive the winter safely without building a shed for heat preservation.

Indoor frog farming is highly intensive. In order to make full use of the area, the indoor frog pond design should be divided into shallow water area and deep water area, the shallow water area is the place where frogs live and feed, and the deep water area is the area where frogs swim and excrete dirt. The shallow water area maintains a water depth of about 10 cm, and the deep water depth is 30 cm ~ 40 cm, accounting for 5% of the whole pool area.

Semi-intensive culture of adult frogs

Using fish ponds, depressions, rice fields, lotus root ponds and so on to raise frogs, because of the large area, frogs are scattered, the density is not high, the yield is not high, generally mainly with natural bait, supplemented by pellet feed.

Frogs weighing more than 100 grams are put into large ponds or rice paddies, and several floating feed tables are set up in the pond, which are fed every day in the way of intensive breeding. As it is not easy for frogs to concentrate on food, some frogs do not eat artificial feed and can be supplemented with natural bait. The main way to obtain natural bait is to lure insects by light. If we can make good use of light to lure insects, we can solve most of the bait of bullfrog, and feed a small amount of compound feed during the day, the effect is better.

The position of the trapping lamp is set above the water surface about 2 meters away from the shore, and there are no tall buildings around, so as not to block the light and affect the effect of trapping insects.

Semi-intensive culture, bullfrog stocking density should not be too large, each square meter can release 10 ~ 30, depending on the bait conditions.

Intensive Culture of Adult Frog

The intensive culture of bullfrog indoor is a new type of scientific culture method developed on the basis of conventional culture. The focus of its culture technology is to control the environment, create good ecological conditions and fully meet the nutritional needs of bullfrog growth. Especially with the successful development of bullfrog artificial formula feed, it can give full play to its high efficiency, which is an important way to develop bullfrog commercial production.

Indoor frog pond, the general area is 10 square meters ~ 20 square meters, there should be tap water or well water can lead to each pool, in order to change water and flush. In order to save area and make full use of space, a multi-level three-dimensional culture structure can be adopted, generally 2 meters as one floor, the space layer is erected with cement precast board, and staircases are set up between layers, so as to facilitate the up and down operation and management of aquaculture personnel.

The daily management of adult frog farming is roughly the same as that of young frogs. But the stocking density is different. Frogs weighing more than 100 grams can be kept up to commodity specifications with 50 frogs per square meter. If the body weight at the time of stocking is less than 100 grams, the density can be slightly higher. Later, with the growth of frogs, frogs with rapid growth and individual size will be screened, graded, raised or sold.

Under the condition of normal temperature, the breeding time of adult frog is from April to October, which is also the best time for frog growth. Therefore, there should be an adequate supply of bait. Under the condition of 22 ℃ ~ 28 ℃, it can be fed 2 ~ 3 times a day, and the amount of formula feed should account for 3% of the frog's body weight in order to meet the nutritional needs of the rapid growth of frogs. If the temperature is lower than 22 ℃ or higher than 28 ℃, the feeding times and amount can be reduced appropriately.

In addition, adult frog breeding, in addition to regular bait, but also change water every day, clean the food market, pay attention to observe the health status of frogs, timely prevention and treatment, strictly prevent the invasion of snakes and rats, and so on. Where there are conditions, heating culture can be carried out, and two batches of commercial frogs can be produced in one year.
