Grass in winter should be sufficient forage for cattle. In general, each cow needs about 1500 kilograms of forage, such as silage, hay, rice straw, corn straw and so on. The forage grass should be palletized well, strictly prevent the wind, rain and snow cover, and ensure that the forage grass does not rot and deteriorate.

Check and repair the barn before the warm winter, block the wind tunnel, ensure that the roof does not leak rain and snow, hang curtains on the door at night to protect against cold, frequently pad hay and dry soil in the barn, clean cow dung every day, and keep the house clean and dry.

Feed the straw carefully. Feed the grass first and then the concentrate. Forage should be diversified, such as mixed feeding of green straw, rice straw, wheat straw, corn leaves, sweet potato vines, peanut seedlings and so on. In addition to feeding enough coarse feed every day, it should also be fed to corn, cakes, wheat bran, barley and other fine fodder. Each cow was fed 10-12 kg coarse feed per day, and 10 grams of salt, 15 grams of bone meal and 30 grams of urea were added per 100 kg body weight (melted and mixed with concentrate feed).

As the saying goes, "grass fat, material power, and water spirit" means that you should not only feed good materials, but also provide adequate drinking water. Generally, each cow should drink 35 kilograms of water in a day and night, drinking water 3 times 4 times a day, and the water temperature is about 40 ℃.

Brush often wipe the cow body, help to keep the cow skin clean and hygienic, can remove external parasites in time, but also can promote cattle blood circulation and enhance cold resistance.

Clean forage shall not contain sand, soil, foreign bodies, mildew and deterioration, and cattle shall not be allowed to drink muddy water and pollute water. The water should be fresh and clean, the house should be clean, and the feed trough should be cleaned every day to remove the residual forage and wash it frequently to prevent germs from contaminating the remaining forage and affecting the health of cattle.

Prevention means prevention of cow disease. The cowshed should be regularly disinfected with 2% lime milk, and the food utensils should be regularly disinfected with 2%-3% potassium permanganate solution. Cattle should be dewormed once in winter, other diseases should be prevented, and diseases should be treated in time.
