Commercial meat rabbits are generally produced with weaned rabbits (about 30 days old). After short-term fattening (that is, young rabbits are fattened), their body weight is increased from about 0.5 kg to 2.5 kg, in order to produce more rabbit meat. In the production of commercial meat rabbits, in addition to the final output, we must also consider the production cost and pay attention to economic benefits. According to the characteristics of commercial meat rabbit production, the overall goal of feeding and management is to reduce thinning disease, increase daily gain and reduce feeding cost. Around the above goals, we should focus on the following technologies:

1. Ensure nutrition. For rural professional farms and households, it is appropriate to adopt the method of concentrate supplement (granular feed) plus green feed fattening. It is recommended that the nutritional level of concentrate supplement is 12 megajoules / kg of digestible energy, 18% of crude protein, 3-4% of crude fat, 11-12% of crude fiber, 0.7-1.0% of calcium, 0.4% of phosphorus, 0.8% of amino acids and 0.6% of egg amino acids. The daily feeding amount of pellets can be gradually increased according to 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 kg live weight, while 100-400 grams of high-quality green feed are fed daily; large-scale farms should adopt full-price pellet feed, and their digestible energy can be reduced to 10-12 megajoules / kg, crude protein 16-17%, crude fiber 12-14%, and each rabbit is fed with an average of 60-150 grams of granule per day. It is required to gradually increase the amount of feeding from small to large, adhere to the method of regular and quantitative or consistent free feeding, and fully ensure drinking water.

two。 Good at management. First, fattening rabbits are generally raised in groups. Can be raised in cages or columns, 8-10 per square meter. However, it is best to raise them in groups according to their body weight, so as to prevent "bullying the small" and improve the quality of commercial rabbits. In dry areas, about a month before slaughtering, ground "captivity" can also be carried out, which is beneficial to the turnover and utilization of cage spaces. Second, when the room temperature is less than 10 degrees Celsius, heat preservation measures such as padding grass and properly closing doors and windows should be adopted; the sunshine time of commercial rabbits should not exceed 12 hours. Third, the installation of feed trough, drinking fountain and grass rack should ensure that rabbits in the same cage (fence) can not only feed and drink water at the same time, but also prevent rabbits from trampling on feed, resulting in water and food pollution.

3. Eliminate sick and weak rabbits in time. In order to reduce the feed and artificial waste caused by the death or slow growth in the middle fattening period and increase the feeding cost, the particularly weak rabbits should be resolutely eliminated at the beginning of fattening. Diseased rabbits not only have the harm of spreading diseases, but also increase expenditure, because young rabbits generally recover from the disease. Therefore, when diseased rabbits are found, it is best not to treat them and eliminate them immediately; strictly prevent the outbreak of rabbit plague and digestive tract diseases.
