In winter, cattle are in a state of consuming feed, feed utilization rate and slaughter rate are very low, thus forming a vicious circle of "summer satiety, autumn fat, winter lean, autumn lack". Cattle can lose fat by 25%~30% in one winter. In order to solve this problem, the following technical measures should be taken.

1 Pay attention to heat preservation

Cowshed insulation performance is good. No rain leakage, no ventilation, the ground is not damp, clean and sanitary, the room temperature should be kept at 10~18℃.

2 cowshed ventilation

Due to the tight seal of the warm shed in winter, the large temperature difference between the inside and outside of the shed, the high humidity in the shed due to the heat dissipation of cattle respiration and excretion of feces and urine, and the high content of harmful gases such as ammonia, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, etc., affect the normal growth and development of cattle. Therefore, the cowshed must be ventilated in time.

3 Keep it clean.

To maintain the sanitation of warm shed cattle house, can ensure the normal growth and development of beef cattle.① Remove cow dung in time and remove cow dung every day when feeding cattle.② Clean the cattle house and feeding trough. After feeding cattle every day, clean the mixed materials and clean the feeding trough in time.③ Disinfection of cattle house shall be carried out once a month. Spray disinfection of floor and wall of cattle house with sodium hydroxide solution of 1% concentration. Disinfect with peracetic acid when ammonia smell is strong. Disinfect with white ash at the door of cattle house.

4 Scientific feeding

Feed is the material basis for fattening cattle to gain fat and meat, so it must be reasonably matched with feed. The diet consisted of 5kg hay grass, 8kg silage corn straw, 10kg distiller's grains, 3kg corn flour, 0. 5 kg soybean cake, 100g urea and 50g salt. Feed three times a day, namely 6:00 a.m., noon, 6:00 p.m. feed once. Feed should be added less and frequently, each time the feeding time is 1~1.5h, do not make the cattle eat too much, so that the cattle maintain a strong appetite at each feeding, in order to improve the utilization rate of feed.

5 Adequate drinking water

In winter, cattle eat mainly dry grass, so they should be supplied with sufficient drinking water. Lack of drinking water not only affects cattle intake, but also affects cattle digestion and utilization of feed, making cattle hair, skin dry, listless. Cattle drink water twice a day, and drink water 1 hour after eating. The water supplied should be clean and sanitary, and the temperature should be appropriate (about 20℃).

6 More sun exposure

When the weather is fine, the cattle should be taken out of the house to bask in the sun, and at the same time, the cattle body should be brushed to prevent the occurrence of skin diseases and ectoparasites, and it can also promote blood circulation, enhance the resistance of cattle to cold, and increase fat for beef cattle.
