Light not only plays an important role in chemical processes, but also plays an important role in physiological life processes. As the days are long and the temperature outside begins to climb, life-form behavior patterns also change.

It can be proved from the promoting effect of reproductive cycle. Once again, male pigeons show interest in female pigeons, who no longer evade their courtship and show some interest in each other in winter. The rest period begins in autumn and reaches its peak in winter, except for a normal feather exuviation to see a little liveliness.

This stage of the rest period is absolutely important that the body can fully recover from reproduction and competition.

In autumn we must make sure that the combination of daily feed is suitable for the molting process. Adequate nutritional feed must be provided in winter to maintain good health and keep body temperature at a constant level. You must pay special attention to the pigeons to avoid being overly manipulated in all forms if you allow them to fly without restriction.

Flying should not be too intense. You should keep in mind the fact that pigeons can gain weight quickly in winter. If it is allowed to develop in the spring breeding and competition period will be a big trouble. The feed quality given to pigeons in winter should be careful not to contain too much fat to prevent them from getting too fat. Pigeons should be energetic in winter, but not at the top, because they are not in the game at this time.

Because the days are short, there is no reason for pigeons to rest more in winter than in summer. We should not extend the days manually, and nature should be allowed to deal with them as freely as possible. If you start a new season in winter by breeding, pigeons should do the same in spring by resting and molting completely. At this time, the composition of the feed must be changed, mainly the feed containing more protein, and the feed change should be carried out gradually by using small seeds as a nutritional supplement.

In order to strengthen the mating instinct, pigeons should be separated long before pairing. You will experience that matching pigeons that have been together for a period of time have fewer obstacles than those who have just been together for the first time. Therefore, it is recommended to pair with pigeons that are used to each other when breeding in winter, because it is unnatural to breed in winter. In this way, it is relatively easy to solve and manage the problems that arise in the process of breeding in winter. If all young pigeons have to be the same age at the beginning of January, you must slowly increase the artificial daylight when you breed in winter. The daylight should be extended when the young pigeons are ready to hatch.

Parents must feed pigeons once a day in the morning and once in the evening. Many young pigeons bred in winter do not grow very well because the days are too short for animals.

Finally, keep in mind that winter reproduction is unnatural, so try to imitate nature to the maximum extent possible. The hatching days of pigeons must be increased for at least 12 hours. But the benefits of breeding in winter are clear: you will have more mature pigeons on their first flight. They can be nesting or even widower, although there is some trouble because homing pigeons molt earlier.

An interesting phenomenon occurs when the winter squab molts. Young pigeons hatched shortly before Christmas develop like "late-born young pigeons", that is, they do not molt until the month. On the other hand, pigeons born in the first week of January behave like "early baby pigeons" and begin to molt in February and March.
