Heating techniques of soft-shelled turtle culture in winter
The optimum temperature for artificial soft-shelled turtle cultivation is about 30℃. If the temperature drops below 10℃, the turtle will stop eating and drinking, stop growing and enter hibernation. Therefore, it is of great significance to take warming measures in winter.
First, the use of hot spring water or thermal power plant waste hot water heating. Hot spring water contains sodium, potassium, bicarbonate and a variety of trace elements, conducive to the growth of soft-shelled turtle. Adjusting the water temperature to 30℃ by mixing hot spring water can not only avoid turtle hibernation, but also help turtle gain weight quickly. If there is no hot spring water, it can also be heated by waste hot water from thermal power plants.
Second, the use of solar heating. Using closed solar water heater, circulating solar water heater or mobile solar water heater, etc., and equipped with cold and warm air conditioning equipment, the water temperature of the turtle culture pond can still be maintained at about 30℃ in winter. In this way, in the case of raising 20 to 25 young turtles per square meter, after 6 to 7 months of breeding, each turtle can weigh about 130 grams, and then the breeding density is reduced to 6 per square meter, and then after 10 to 15 months, each turtle can weigh more than 0.5 kilograms, the largest can reach 1 kilogram.
3. Heating with electricity, oil or gas. Double-layer plastic greenhouse or steam heating device can be used to keep the water temperature of the turtle pond at about 30℃ throughout the winter. If the stocking density is about 13 per square meter, after 1 year of breeding, each turtle can also weigh about 0.5 kg, reaching the market specifications.
The first of these three heating methods is the best, because the use of hot spring water or waste hot water from thermal power plants to heat the water in the turtle pond is simple, easy to regulate, low in cost, and significant in effect.
