Zhu Ming, director of the Planning, Design and Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture, pointed out at the seminar that the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries can form many new industries, new business type, and new models, stimulate farmers' creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial vitality, help to cultivate new economic growth points, and better meet the consumption needs of urban and rural residents.

As the "bellwether" of modern agricultural construction, the demonstration area undertakes the mission of accelerating the development of agricultural modernization in a larger region and a wider range. In the view of Zhai Huqu, member of the Agricultural and Rural Committee of the National people's Congress and former president of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as an important demonstration subject for the construction of modern agriculture, the demonstration area should not only play a leading role in the material aspects such as window display, technology popularization, and industrial guidance, but also actively explore the farmland system, farming system, rural finance and insurance, agricultural management and organizational forms.

In January this year, Shanghai began a new journey of building a national modern agricultural demonstration zone. In the first three-year action plan, Shanghai will complete 11 tasks and build a total of 42 key projects in nine categories.
