The experience of how to mix duck and fish

Mixed culture of fish and duck is a new way to increase farmers' income. Duck activities in the water can eat frogs, tadpoles, aquatic insects and other harmful organisms to fish; fish can make use of duck waste such as duck dung and residual bait to make the water quality fresh and the environment good. Mixed culture can eliminate the unfavorable factors of fish and duck culture. Mixed culture of fish and duck should master the following main techniques.

First, the construction of fish ponds and duck houses. Fish ponds are required to be close to the source of water, good water quality, no pollution, pond-shaped east-west direction, water storage depth of more than 1.5 meters, pond ridge width and slope, an area of about 5 mu. The duck house should be built on the north slope of the fish pond to maintain the light. in front of the house, a fence with a height of about 0.7 m is surrounded by materials such as mesh or bamboo, and the underwater part is about 0.5 m, separated from the surface of the fish pond as a place for duck activities.

Second, fish and duck are stocked and matched. Fish species are mainly fat water-bearing and omnivorous fish with no or less herbivorous fish. In general, silver carp and bighead carp account for 45%, common carp and crucian carp account for 50%, grass and carp can account for 5%, and the stocking capacity is between 1500 and 2000 per mu, which is flexible according to Tangkou conditions and management conditions. Each mu of fish ponds can raise about 120 ducks and build 25 square meters of duck houses.

Third, daily management. Keep patrolling the pond every day to observe the feeding and activities of fish and ducks. At ordinary times, it is necessary to add water frequently to change water, keep the water quality fat, alive, tender and cool, and prevent the phenomenon of anoxic floating head and flooding pond of fish in summer and autumn. Duck feed should be kept fresh and not moldy, and should be fed 3 times per day for 4 times. According to the stocking amount of fish, feed fish feed as appropriate. The duck house should be cleaned frequently and kept clean. Excess duck manure can be accumulated and fermented. Depending on the fatness and thinness of the water quality, the excess duck manure can be thrown into the pond.

Fourth, disease prevention and control. Fish and duck diseases adhere to the principle of prevention. Before fish stocking, the fish pond should remove too much silt, sprinkle and disinfect the whole pond after melting with quicklime, and the fish species should be washed and disinfected with 2.5% Mui 4% salt water into the pond. From May to September, the whole pond was sprinkled with quicklime every 15 seconds and 20 days, and the fish were fed with oxytetracycline, dysentery and other baits for 7 days before the disease season. Duck playground with straw bedding, and often with bleach solution spray disinfection, young ducks should be vaccinated to enhance disease resistance. Norfloxacin, erythromycin, dysentery and other drugs were regularly added to duck feed to prevent duck intestinal diseases.
