Last Updated: 2024/09/19, In winter, when the water temperature is between 15 ℃ and 20 ℃, the juvenile freshwater Pomfret is prone to melon disease, white skin disease and ring disease. During the overwintering period, freshwater Pomfret is prone to skin rot, water mildew, rotifer and so on. The symptoms, prevention and treatment of these diseases are introduced as follows.

In winter, when the water temperature is between 15℃ and 20 ℃, the juvenile freshwater pomfret is easy to suffer from small worm disease, white skin disease and ring worm disease. Colossus brachypterus is prone to skin rot, water mildew and trichodesmosis during winter.

The symptoms and prevention of these diseases are described as follows:

1. Melon worm disease. A large amount of mucus appears on the body surface of the sick fish. When it is seriously infected, it appears as white clouds in the water. Prevention and control: before entering the pool, microscopic examination of the fish body surface and gills, found that there are small melon insects, each cubic meter of water with 0.1 grams of mercurous nitrate water splash pool, once a day, even sprinkle 3 days.

2. White skin disease. At the beginning of the disease, the body surface, dorsal fin, caudal fin and jaw of the diseased fish were slightly whitened, and the scales at the whitened place fell off as soon as they touched. Severe fish body loss of balance, spinning in the water, swimming slowly, or head up, tail down hanging on the surface. The time from onset to death is short, and the mortality rate can reach more than 60% within 3 days. Prevention and cure: pisciculture process does not make fish body damage. When the disease occurs, each cubic meter of water is sprinkled with 1 gram of bleaching powder mixed with water in the whole pool. Once a day for 3 days. or 12.5 grams aureomycin or 25 grams oxytetracycline per cubic meter of water for 30 minutes.

3. Skin rot. Sick fish skin inflammation severe scale shedding, muscle decay, was round, lose balance, slow swimming, soon that death. Prevention: Avoid fish injuries during fish entry and transfer. When the disease occurs, each cubic meter of water is sprinkled with 1 gram of bleaching powder mixed with water in the whole pool, once a day, 3 times in a row.

4. Water mildew. The diseased fish body surface has the cluster shape hyphae, moves slowly, the tissue necrosis, soon loses the balance and dies. Prevention and control: the temperature of overwintering pond water is controlled at 24℃-27℃ to prevent fish body injury. When the disease occurs, 20g potassium permanganate is used to immerse each cubic meter of water for 20-30 minutes, or 0.5g copper sulfate and 0.2g ferrous sulfate are mixed with water to sprinkle the whole pool once a day for 3 times.

5. Wheel worm disease. The disease occurs only after fish are parasitized by large numbers of rotifers. Prevention and control: every cubic meter of water with 0.5 grams of copper sulfate and 0.2 grams of ferrous sulfate mixed with water, once a day, continuous sprinkling for 3 days.
