It is good to cultivate freshwater Pomfret with soybean meal feed.
The American Soybean Association (ASA) cooperated with Nanjing Jiangpu Aquatic Technology extension Station, Jiangpu Fish Farm, Jiangsu Aquatic Technology extension Station and National Aquatic Technology extension Station (NEC) to carry out a 2-month pond freshwater Pomfret culture experiment. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the growth and economic performance of large freshwater Pomfret species into commercial fish by using 32 ∶ 6 soybean maximum feed and its 80 ∶ 20 pond culture model of American Soybean Association.
Materials and methods the experiment was carried out in 3 fish ponds with an average of 4.0 mu (0.27 ha) in Jiangpu County, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. The average water depth of the fishing pond is about 1.5 meters. All ponds are equipped with water exchange and aeration equipment. The bottom of each fishing pond is clean and free of organic matter. The size of freshwater white Pomfret is 149g / tail, which is produced by Jiangpu County Fish Farm in Nanjing. The fish species were released into the pond at the beginning of June 2004, and the stocking density was 800ind / mu (or 12000 ind / ha). At the same time, the stocking density of silver carp fingerling was 1500 pieces / ha. The size and age of the fish species released in the three fishing ponds were the same. The target specification of culture is 500g / tail. The freshwater Pomfret was fed with 32 + 6 whole plant protein expanded floating pellet adult fish feed from the American Soybean Association (Table 1). The feed is formulated by the American Soybean Association and maximizes the use of peeled soybean meal. The feed is produced by Fushou Feed Factory in Xiamen City, Fujian Province. The farmed fish were fed twice a day, each time until full, and the same amount was given in three ponds each time. The daily management of the culture experiment was carried out according to the 80 ∶ 20 pond culture model of the American Soybean Association. All fishing ponds are proofed once every month on the same day. At the end of the experiment, all fish ponds were dry, all herring and silver carp were counted and weighed, and the average fish weight, gross yield and net yield, feed conversion rate and survival rate were calculated. The breeding costs were recorded during the experiment, and the net income and return on investment (ROI) were calculated at the end of the experiment. Results from June 3 to July 26, 2004, freshwater white Pomfret was cultured for 54 days, from 149g/ tail length to average 628g/ tail (Table 2). The average wool yields of freshwater Pomfret and silver carp were 496kg / mu (7440 kg / ha) and 108kg / mu (1620 kg / ha) respectively (Table 2). The average survival rates of freshwater Pomfret and silver carp were 98.7% and 100%, respectively. The average feed conversion rate of fresh water Pomfret to 32pm soybean maximum feed was 1.12 ∶ 1. The harvested freshwater white Pomfret has the same specification, bright color and symmetrical figure. The feed cost per kilogram of fish is 4.59 yuan (US $0.56). According to the local market price of freshwater white Pomfret (8.8yuan / kg) and silver carp (4.3yuan / kg), the net income of 54-day culture cycle is 1809 yuan / mu (US $3285 / ha). The average return on investment in the three experimental ponds was 59.9%. Conclusion using 32 ∶ 6 soybean meal feed and American Soybean Association 80 ∶ 20 pond culture model, freshwater Pomfret showed excellent growth performance and high feed conversion efficiency. In just 54 days, the freshwater white Pomfret grew from 149g to 628g, more than 25% more than the target commodity specification of 500g, thus proving the great potential of cultivating freshwater Pomfret with soybean feed. The short culture cycle shown by aquaculture shows that Pomfret can produce two crops in one production season in ponds in temperate regions of China. That is, in the first year of the two-year culture cycle, 150 grams of large freshwater Pomfret species are produced, and then the 150 grams of large fish species are released, with 55 days as a culture cycle, there can be two harvests, and the first harvest can be carried out at an interval of 10 days. and prepare for the second crop of culture. Such a production cycle can be completed in a relatively short time from June 1 to September 30 in central China.

Introduction of compound Feed for breeding Freshwater White Pomfret
Freshwater Pomfret is a kind of feeding fish. it is fed with compound feed in ponds, cages and running water. This is also an important measure to increase yield, promote growth and shorten the culture cycle. It has been proved by practice that using combined feeding

Matters needing attention in the cultivation of fry of freshwater white Pomfret
Pomfret is an omnivorous fish, young fish (fish flowers) to large zooplankton as the staple food, but also eat organic detritus and a variety of artificial feed. The following points should be paid attention to in the stage of fish fry cultivation: first, due to the miscellaneous eating habits of freshwater Pomfret, the fish fry grow fast and get sick.
