Mandarin fish, also known as osmanthus fish, is one of the most valuable freshwater species. Cage culture of mandarin fish has the advantages of less water surface, less investment, short culture cycle, high yield, good benefit and so on. The cage culture technology of mandarin fish is introduced as follows.

Water area selection: the cage setting water area requires open water surface, far away from the waterway, stable water level, slow water flow, fresh water quality, no pollution, convenient transportation, rich natural feed and no enemy harm.

Cage setting: the size of the cage is generally 5 × 5 × 2.5 meters, the depth of water entry is 1.8-2 meters, and the bottom of the cage is 20-30 cm from the bottom. The four corners of the cage are fixed with 4 Phyllostachys pubescens, and the four bottom corners are sunk with stones to prevent them from being washed away by water and wind and waves.

Seedling stocking: mandarin fish cultured in cages, the species should choose big-eyed mandarin fish or warped mouth mandarin fish. Before stocking, soak the seedlings with 3-5% salt water for 5-10 minutes, or with 1% povidone iodine for 10-15 minutes. The stocking time is generally in the middle and late May, with 30-40 mandarin fry of 4-6 cm per square meter.

Feed feeding: cage culture mandarin fish, feed fish can choose mud carp, silver carp, bighead carp, crucian carp and so on. Among them, the feeding effect of dace is the best, the feed coefficient is low, and the growth rate of mandarin fish is fast after feeding. Feed fish are required to be physically strong, uniform in size, disease-free and injury-free, and the body length of mandarin fish is 1 big 3-1 hand 2. If the size is uneven, fish sieve can be used to screen out the feed fish that are too large or too small. Put the feed fish into the box after disinfection and sterilization. Due to the high density of cage culture, feed fish should not be fed too much each time. Feed once every 2-3 days at the beginning of stocking, and once a day as the mandarin fish grow up. Feeding time, you can choose to eat mandarin fish in the evening when the most active. The daily feeding amount is 5-10% of the body weight of mandarin fish in the cage.

Daily management. The box is inspected once in the morning, in the middle and in the evening, and when the feed fish in the cage is insufficient, it should be replenished in time; the feed fish that can not be eaten by mandarin fish with too large size should be fished out in time. Clean the attachment of the box regularly to facilitate the exchange of water inside and outside the box, keep a high dissolved oxygen in the water body of the box, and promote the feeding and growth of mandarin fish. Find the cage damaged, mend it in time to prevent the fish from running.

Prevention and treatment of fish disease. The common diseases of mandarin fish cultured in cage are Gill rot disease, red skin disease, rotifer and so on. Fish disease prone season, in the four corners of the cage respectively with bleach, copper sulfate ferrous sulfate mixture, mandarin fish special insecticide and other drugs alternately hanging basket, hanging bag disinfection. Once fish disease is found, it is necessary to make a correct diagnosis, prescribe the right medicine to the case, and treat it as soon as possible.

Catch at the right time. After 3-4 months of culture, some mandarin fish meet the market specifications, so they should be caught and listed in time, reduce the density in the box, let the small size mandarin fish continue to grow and increase the culture yield.
