Intensive culture of California perch with cages can also achieve excellent economic benefits, and cages can be set up in reservoirs, lakes, rivers and ponds.

1. The location and location of the cage

The cage is a Rex-type double-layer covered cage with a specification of 4 meters × 4 meters × 2 meters and a mesh of 2.5 centimeters. The net row floating frame is made of Phyllostachys pubescens, double rows of bamboo overlap on the main road, single row of bamboo on the side road, and the cage is separated by 2 meters. The sinker is a cement block weighing 1 kg each, 8 sinkers per net, and the bamboo raft is fixed with 6 cement piers, each weighing 60 kg (the cage area is set according to the needs, generally 16 to 30 square meters is suitable). The cage can be set in reservoirs, lakes, rivers and ponds, and the cage can be moved according to the change of water level to keep the water depth of the cage above 3 meters.

2. Culture method

The main results are as follows: (1) single cage culture: the California perch is raised separately in the cage and fed regularly and quantitatively every day, and the yield is higher.

(2) cage culture: the California perch is mainly raised in the cage, and the palatable silver carp and bighead carp species are put into full at one time. In the process of culture, with the growth of California perch, silver carp and bighead carp, which mainly feed on plankton, are also growing in the cage, so the California bass in the cage have sufficient palatable bait and eat without external interference. Due to the gradual decrease in the number of bait fish, the feeding density of California perch can be maintained in a relatively reasonable range.

3. Culture technology

(1) Water surface selection: generally choose to be in the middle and upper reaches of the main river course, the living area of the reservoir, near the auxiliary dam, and the deep water area of the lake, so as to avoid setting up cages in the waters where the current is fast.

(2) time of entering the box: according to the local climatic conditions, the fish can be put into the cage when the water temperature is above 15 ℃. The earlier the time, the better, and the growth time can be increased. The source of bait fish should be considered. if silver carp and bighead carp seedlings are used as bait, the breeding season of silver carp and bighead carp and the breeding season of plankton of silver carp and bighead carp in the water should be considered to arrange the time for California perch fry to enter the box.

(3) stocking density: the suitable stocking density of California perch is 20: 25 per square meter in cage, and 6: 8 per square meter. Silver carp and bighead carp were cultured in boxes at the same time, and their density was 250 to 300 times higher than that of California sea bass.

(4) bait: whether monoculture or captivity, the bait fish of the California bass should be palatable. If the body length of the bait fish is more than 70% of the California bass, the California bass will have difficulty in catching food, can not swallow and bite continuously, and will be stuck; if the individual is too small, the amount of bait swallowed every day will increase the feeding cost; the body length of the bait fish should be 30% and 50% of the body length of the California bass.

(5) timely box division: the growth of California perch is obviously unbalanced, and the individual size of California perch in the cage will vary greatly in a short period of time. In order to prevent each other from cannibalizing each other, and to determine the specifications of bait fish, it must be raised according to different sizes. Cage mesh size, to bait fish do not escape as the standard. If the mesh is too small, the exchange of water inside and outside the cage is not smooth, which will worsen the water quality in the box; if the cage is washed frequently, it will increase the labor intensity of cage management. The size of the first-class cage mesh of California perch culture is about 1 cm. When the California perch grows to more than 100 grams, it will be transferred to the second-class cage breeding.

(6) Daily management: keep the box inspected every day, clean the box frequently, and clean the cage every 15 days, so as to keep the water communication unobstructed and fresh. If you find rat holes or damage in the cage, repair it in time to prevent escaping fish. During the flood season, strictly guard against floods and torrential rains. According to the weather forecast, move the cage to a safe ventilation place before the flood and rainstorm. To strengthen the work of disease prevention and control, the California perch should be disinfected before entering the box and when it is divided into the box. The bait should be fresh and clean.
