Last Updated: 2024/11/09, First, look at the weight feed to determine the feed quality and feed quantity according to the body weight and laying rate of laying ducks: (1) the laying rate of ducks is still more than 80%, while the weight of ducks tends to lose slightly. At this time, the animal feed should be fed properly (fresh snail is better).

First, look at the weight feed

The quality and quantity of feed are determined according to the body weight and laying rate of laying ducks: (1) the laying rate of ducks is still more than 80%, while the weight of ducks tends to lose slightly, so it is better to feed animal feed (it is better to have fresh snails). (2) Ducks gain weight and have a tendency to get fat, but when the laying rate is still 80%, they can appropriately increase roughage and green feed, or control feed intake (150g per day), reduce feed intake by 50% according to free intake, and don't let ducks eat too much concentrate, but animal protein feed should remain at the original level or increase slightly. (3) the body weight is normal, the egg laying rate is also high, and the protein level in the feed can be slightly increased compared with the previous stage; (4) the egg laying rate is reduced to 60%, which is difficult to rise, and there is no need to feed.

Look at the fecal feed

If the feces are thick, soft, striped and glossy, the feet can be divided into several sections, indicating that the fine, coarse and green materials are reasonable. If the feces are small and strong, the color is black, and the cross-section is granulated after dialing, it shows that the concentrate feed is too much, the amount of green feed is less, and the digestion and absorption is abnormal. If the dung color is light and does not take shape, it will spread out as soon as it is discharged, indicating that the concentrate feed is insufficient and the nutrition is on the low side, so the concentrate feed should be replenished. If the feces are yellowish white or grayish green and have a foul smell, it means that the duck is sick and should be treated in isolation.

Look at the feed for laying eggs

If the egg shape is abnormal and small, indicating insufficient nutrition, it is necessary to add feed rich in protein, such as bean cake, peanut cake and fish meal, so as to increase the crude protein content of the diet to 20%, and appropriately increase the total amount of the diet. If the eggshell becomes thin, transparent, trachoma, rough, or even produce soft shell eggs, it means that the feed quality is not good, especially calcium deficiency, or vitamin deficiency, bone powder, shell powder, lime powder and other minerals and vitamin D-rich feed should be added, such as cod liver oil and inorganic salt additives can be added when egg weight is reduced. If the laying time is concentrated at 2 ∶ 00 in the morning, it shows that the feeding method is good, such as postponing laying every day, and the egg body becomes smaller, it is necessary to increase the feed.

Fourth, look at the spiritual feed

Healthy ducks with high laying rate are energetic and dive for a long time, with smooth feathers and splashing water after landing. If ducks are lethargic, unable to move, afraid to enter the water after release, their feathers are sticky and wet, or even sink, indicating insufficient nutrition, they should be fed with fresh animal feed and cod liver oil (better for clear cod liver oil), mixed with 1mL in powder, and fed with 0.5mL every day for 7 days as a course of treatment, or each duck should be fed with 0.5mL daily for 10 days.
