Experience of high-yield culture of muskrat
Muskrat is a herbivorous animal with both flesh and flesh and high medicinal value. To develop muskrat breeding and improve the survival rate is the key, which is introduced as follows:
First, select excellent breeding mice.
The breeding season of muskrats is from March to October. During this period, strong and alert muskrats should be selected as breeding rats, and the pond water should be changed frequently. Disinfection should be carried out once every 10 to 15 days, and bedding grass should be changed frequently.
II. Estrous cycle and duration of development
The muskrat reaches sexual maturity in about 4 months, and estrus occurs every 15 days after sexual maturity, and the duration of estrus is 3 days, also known as the sexual period. Female rats are excited and restless in estrus, have a poor appetite, sniff the hindquarters of male rats, chase male rats, sing frequently, and take the initiative to accept male rats to climb across mating.
III. Keeping alive during pregnancy and after giving birth
The gestation period of muskrats is about 28 days. 5-10 days before delivery, the enclosure should be cleaned and covered with soft grass, which not only plays a role in preventing moisture, but also makes the offspring huddle together, which is convenient for mother care and lactation. The enclosure should be inspected for 3 days before delivery, and the weak areas should be repaired in time. When the enclosure is not firm or not strict, the rodents in other nests may break the circle, which can kill and bite the offspring, and the rodents will fight and get injured.
IV. Rearing of young mice
With the rapid growth and development of young rats, it is required that there must be sufficient weeds, aquatic plants or other kinds of green fodder, as well as cereal mineral feed. With the increase of age, they were fed 4 or 6 times a day so that they could eat fresh and unspoiled feed at any time.

Preliminary preparation for Muskrat Culture
First, the preparation of the site: at present, the vast majority of muskrats raised in captivity are raised in outdoor enclosures. the enclosures where muskrats are raised are flat enclosures, vertical enclosures, building enclosures, young rats enclosures and simple enclosures, and so on. Some of them are raised in indoor cages.

Disease prevention and treatment of farmed muskrat
1. Symptoms of pasteurellosis: pasteurellosis is mainly induced by drinking water, feed or exogenous infection. The diseased mice showed refusing to eat, dishevelled coat, rapid and difficult breathing, a few diseased mice with hindlimb paralysis, muscle spasm and contraction, and sudden onset, often in the body.
