Gecko belongs to the gecko family, also known as Xian toad, gecko, is a precious wild economic animal. Gecko dried products are well-known precious medicinal materials at home and abroad, which have the effects of tonifying the kidney, warming the lungs, strengthening yang, tonifying essence and blood, and relieving asthma and cough. At present, the market demand is large, and the products are in short supply. The feeding methods are introduced as follows:

I. breeding grounds and facilities

Should choose well ventilated, warm in winter and cool in summer, easy to lure insects in the shade. The walls are closed with stones and bricks, with a thickness of 40 cm and a height of 3 m. The inner wall is 1 m below the ground, and several concave windows 1 m square are built for raising cockroaches. The upper part of the inner wall is 30 cm from the bottom of the wall. Build into several rectangular grooves for gecko habitat and spawning, width 20 cm, length depending on the wall, separated by movable bricks in the middle, easy to catch gecko. Windows were opened on the wall of the feeding room. Nail barbed wire, nail wooden frames on indoor walls, block light with gunny bags, and cover the top of the site with barbed wire to prevent gecko from escaping. There are three black lights on the ceiling to lure insects for gecko prey at night. A small pool is set up in the middle of the site for drinking water.

2. Feeding and management of gecko

Gekko gecko is dormant in winter and active in summer. The optimum growth temperature is 22-30 ℃, and the relative humidity should be kept at 60% Murray 80%. The carnivore of gecko. Mainly eat insects, but avoid dead and rotten food. Using black light to trap insects, each 20-watt light bulb, the insects trapped in one night can feed 200 Mel 400 gecko. When the feed is insufficient, it can supplement the artificially raised turtle insects, cockroaches and so on. The way to raise cockroaches is to put old newspapers, animal bones, cornmeal and rice bran in the concave window, and then put the captured cockroaches in so that they can breed naturally and become a high-quality feed for gecko when they grow up. Gecko also eats plant feed, which is made by cooking porridge with corn flour, sweet potato, pumpkin powder or sweet potato, adding appropriate amount of flour, shrimp powder, eggs, etc., and smearing the feed on the inner wall every evening to allow gecko to eat freely. Gecko can eat once and stop foraging for 5 days. Gecko likes a fresh and clean environment, clean the feeding room every day, remove feces, change drinking water once a day, and keep it clean. The breeding density should be 30 murmurs per square meter. In the process of breeding, attention should be paid to preventing cats, mice and other enemies from preying on gecko. In addition, ants will bite the clam scale skin, affecting the decaying of the wound caused by fattening, we should pay attention to prevention.

III. Reproduction of Gekko gecko

1 Gekko gecko is in estrus from March to April, spawns from May to June, and hatches from July to August. The male shape of gecko is obvious, the female is chubby and yellow, and the pattern is fine; the male is slightly thinner, black and thicker. The weight of the female gecko is 100ml / ml 200g, and the female can reach 32cm after being raised for one and a half years. The male is smaller and the tail is slightly pointed. The male-to-female ratio is 20ml / 30mm. If there are too many males, they will compete with each other for female food, biting off their tails and reducing their medicinal value.

(2) the female who lays eggs is kept in a cage. Separate it with a paper box. Stick a thin layer of paper inside the paper box. Let it lay its eggs on paper and pull off the tissue to get the eggs. Cover the light with cloth outside the cage to make gecko lay eggs quietly. Feed more insects half a month before spawning. When feeding artificial formula feed, add some sugar and eggs to the porridge to increase nutrition. After laying a pair of eggs, Gekko gecko lays another pair of eggs every 50 days or so, and lays 4 pairs of eggs a year. The young gecko can be hatched in 70-80 days under the condition of relative humidity 70% muri 90% and temperature 30 Murray 32 ℃.

(3) after hatching, the small gecko should be separated from the big gecko immediately to prevent it from being eaten. Feed the gecko some sugar water every day within 6 days, and some bugs after 6 days. When the small scale grows to about 10 centimeters, it can be put back into the feeding room. The eggs that lay early can control the appropriate temperature, and the young gecko can be hatched earlier, the growth period can be prolonged in the same year, and the rate of success in winter is high; hatching when the output is warm, the survival rate can be improved. Hatching when the weather is warm every year can improve the survival rate.

IV. Disease prevention and treatment

1 when spraying pesticides on nearby farmland, the black light should be turned off to avoid gecko poisoning caused by eating insects with medicine.

Gecko gecko is easy to infect stomatitis or stomatitis, light anorexia, severe death. If the disease is found, it should be treated in isolation and 0. 5% furacillin solution or 0. Wash the affected area with 1% potassium permanganate solution and feed vitamin B1 and vitamin C three times a day, 2.5 mg each time.

Gecko gecko is prone to another disease is night blindness, after the onset, exophthalmos red and swollen, emaciated, 15 Murray died 20 days later. The prevention and cure method is: usually feed vitamin An and B vitamins.

(4) when gecko developed osteomalacia, he was weak and weak, anorexic and inactive, and gradually lost weight, and he died 40 days later. When the disease is found, the eggshell can be fried black. Grind it into powder, mix it and feed it, or add more bone meal to the artificial feed.

5. Capture and processing of gecko

1 is usually captured in May May-September. When gecko comes out to look for food at night. Nylon thread can also be tied on one end of the small bamboo pole to touch the stone seam or tree hole, and when it bites the silk thread, it can be pulled out and caught quickly.

2 after catching the gecko, it can be processed and dried by tapping the back of the clam scale head with the back of the knife, digging out the eyes, raising the abdomen, nailing the head with an iron nail, holding the base of the hindlimb in the left hand, straightening the body slightly, using a sharp knife in the right hand from the upper part of the anus to the pharynx, supporting the chest and abdominal wall with bamboo slices, taking out the internal organs, drying the blood with a cloth (not washed with water), then gently straightening the limbs and tail, drying with a gentle fire. Take two of the same size to form a pair of gecko, that is, commercial gecko.
