Disease prevention and control measures of breeding hedgehog
Hedgehog disease resistance is very strong, in artificial breeding conditions, so far has not been found to suffer from infectious diseases. Only because of improper feed preparation, extensive management, poor sanitary conditions and other reasons will lead to enteritis, ringworm, parasitic diseases and trauma. These diseases can be avoided or greatly reduced as long as feeding management is done well, feed is reasonably prepared, environmental hygiene is paid attention to and hygiene in the nest is paid.
(1) Hygiene and epidemic prevention The prevention of hedgehog diseases must adhere to the principle of prevention over cure, and do a good job in hygiene and epidemic prevention, otherwise it will be more troublesome once diseases occur. 1. Feed hygiene concentrate moldy deterioration, green feed rot, hedgehog eat prone to gastroenteritis, especially pregnant female hedgehog, gastroenteritis for 3 days can not be cured, abortion may occur. Therefore, when buying concentrated feed, we must buy the grain produced in that year. Such grain is relatively fresh. Old grain and moldy grain cannot be bought as feed grain. Old grain and moldy grain hedgehog will lead to gastroenteritis after eating. When feeding vegetables, wash away the soil, cut off the hard roots, pick off the yellow leaves and rotten parts; fruits, roots and tubers should wash away the soil or residual pesticides on them to prevent poisoning. Feed grain must be crushed, steamed into a nest or boiled into thick porridge to feed hedgehogs, so that the processed feed is easy to digest and will not cause disease. Otherwise, it is not easy to digest and may also cause gastroenteritis.
2. drinking water sanitation
1) Drinking water should be sufficient, fresh, and frequently changed to supply hedgehog drinking water. It must be clean and hygienic. Before each water change, the remaining water in the food basin should be poured out, and the dirt in it should be removed, and then fresh water should be injected.
2) prohibit the use of sewage and stagnant water sewage, stagnant water often contains a large number of bacteria and parasite eggs, hedgehog drink easy to infect various diseases. Water for hedgehogs should be tap water or well water. If there is no tap water or well water for the time being, the pool water can be treated. Treatment of pool water to use bleaching powder or potassium permanganate, generally in 2~3 loads of water plus 1 gram bleaching powder can kill various pathogens in the water. If potassium permanganate is used for disinfection, the water turns pink.
3. The outer room of the hedgehog nest should be cleaned frequently, especially the feces should be removed in time, and the indoor hygiene and environmental sanitation should be maintained; the mat grass in the inner room should be changed frequently to keep the indoor clean and sanitary. In cold weather, more soft and dry mat grass should be placed to prevent cold and moisture.
4. Environmental sanitation Hedgehog farm inside and outside should be cleaned frequently to ensure that the environment is clean. Nearby depressions and ditches should be filled to prevent stagnant water and eliminate bacterial breeding grounds. In summer, flies should be killed to prevent the spread of germs.
1) Cleaning up pest breeding grounds The most fundamental way to eliminate flies is to manage manure and leftovers. In summer, waste and food should be removed from the area every day to maintain environmental hygiene and remove all decaying dirt to avoid breeding flies and other pests.
2) Kill flies Kill fly maggot commonly used drugs for trichlorfon, quicklime, etc. Trichlorfon will be prepared into a 0.2% diluent, or with quicklime powder regularly sprinkled on the accumulation of faeces and around and near the sewer, can completely eliminate maggots.
3) Destroy adult flies In places where there are many flies, cotton balls soaked in dichlorvos are hung in the air, and the smell emitted can effectively kill adult flies.
5. Disinfection is a powerful measure to prevent infectious diseases and exterminate pathogens. Hedgehog farms must establish strict disinfection systems. Disinfection can be divided into preventive disinfection, temporary disinfection and terminal disinfection.
1) Preventive disinfection This is a regular periodic disinfection work carried out to prevent infectious diseases. The floor is usually disinfected by periodic spraying with quicklime or lime milk. Every year before the sub-litters to use 3% lysol or sodium hydroxide disinfection, or flame disinfection with a blowtorch once. Feed processing tools, food basin, water box, feed bucket, regularly with 0.1% potassium permanganate soaking or hot water boiling disinfection. The environment should also be disinfected regularly.
2) Temporary disinfection This disinfection method is usually applied in the field where some infectious disease has occurred. Disinfection can be carried out continuously or irregularly, which is to disinfect the environment and articles contaminated by excreta. Temporary disinfection is mainly to limit the spread of infectious disease pathogens. Temporary disinfection may not be arranged if no hedgehog infection is found.
3) Terminal disinfection When the last one is cured and the epidemic situation is lifted, the disinfection that completely eliminates the source of infection is terminal disinfection. If no hedgehog infectious disease is found, terminal disinfection may not be done.

Preparation of dietary formula for breeding hedgehog
The main results are as follows: 1) drawing up the feeding standard of hedgehog and selecting feed raw material, the feeding time of hedgehog is relatively short, and the feeding standard of each biological period has not been drawn up yet. Now, referring to the dietary standards of other omnivores, the provisional digestible energy is 11 megajoules / kg. Digestible protein is 16.

Prevention and treatment of gastroenteritis in cultured hedgehog
The main results are as follows: 1) the causes of unclean feed, mildew deterioration, decay of forage and succulent feed, and indigestion caused by excessive intake will cause a large number of pathogenic microorganisms to enter the hedgehog, resulting in gastric dilatation, intestinal flatulence, hemorrhagic septicemia, paratyphoid fever and coccidiosis.
