Female ducks are called laying ducks from the beginning of laying eggs to the end of elimination. The utilization period of general egg-type sesame duck is about 350 days (150-500 days old), which is called the first laying year; some are reused in the second and third year after molting, but their production performance decreases year by year and should not be retained. Male ducks generally have sexual behavior at about 100 days old, but sexual maturity is about 150 days old. Therefore, the male ducks over 5 months old are mostly used for mating, and the breeding males are only used for one year (actually a mating period). From the beginning of sexual maturity, male and female ducks enter a new stage, in which male ducks have to mate, females have to lay eggs and breed, and the growth and development of all parts of the body has basically ended, and all its activities revolve around the center of "reproduction." all feeding and management work should also serve this center and do everything possible to create an environment and conditions for continuous high and stable production to obtain high-quality breeding eggs.

How to raise an egg duck?

(1) using small reservoirs instead of natural rivers

The aim is to keep egg ducks from going into the river and reduce pollution. We have made a pre-test, the laying rate of laying ducks that do not touch the water rises slowly, and generally does not rise when the laying rate reaches 50% or 60%. So the purpose of digging small ponds is to reduce the negative effects of dry farming. The small pond is not too big. Generally, it is enough to dig a pond of 10 square meters with 2000 egg ducks. The depth of the pond is 20 centimeters. The pool water had better be changed every day and can be extracted with a small pump. There are also duck farmers whose pond water is changed every 3 days. The time for launching the duck is 3-4 times a day for 10 minutes each time in summer, and let the duck rest in the shade after getting into the water; twice a day in winter, at 10:00 in the morning, around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, for 5 minutes each time, and let the duck bask in the sun in the playground after getting into the water. If the weather is too cold, it is necessary to relatively reduce the frequency and time of launching. Or not in the water.

(2) allocation of special feed for dry raising ducks

The feed formula is as follows: corn 41%, soybean meal 18%, fish meal 3%, rapeseed meal 6%, cottonseed meal 2%, secondary score 9%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1.4%, shell powder 8.3%, salt 0.3%, additive 1%.

1. Replenish brown sugar. During the long overcast and rainy weather in the south of the Yangtze River in the first half of the year, or two days before the typhoon season and bad weather in the second half of the year, the ducks were fed with brown sugar, usually 1000 ducks were fed 0.5 kilogram a day for 3 days.

2. Supplement cod liver oil. Feeding cod liver oil for 5-7 days a month can increase the laying rate and prolong the high-yield period for the high-yield laying ducks after one year.

3. Replenish grease. It is generally used in the moulting season of laying ducks or the arrival of severe cold weather in winter. However, due to the high technical requirements of greasing, the following points should be paid attention to when replenishing grease: first, the amount should be appropriate, too much will cause diarrhea; second, the time should be appropriate, with a week is appropriate; third, the mixture should be uniform, it is best to use a fine dancer for long-distance spraying or to ask feed manufacturers to professionally add it; fourth, it is best to use it when molting.

4. Replenish fish meal. Use at the peak of egg production will prolong the period of high yield; when the laying rate is 50%, the peak of egg production will come earlier; and when the egg production rate continues to rise slowly, it will accelerate the rate of increase.

5. Replenish the green feed. Generally to water hyacinth-based, qualified professional households can grow ryegrass. It can be added all the year round. As in the process of dry breeding, egg ducks can not eat any wild feed and rely entirely on artificial feeding, so the feed formula should be diversified as much as possible, especially the feed containing sulfur amino acids, vitamins and inorganic salts should be kept adequate.

(3) measures for prevention and control of epidemic diseases

1. Do a good job in the cleanliness of the duck house. The mat grass in the duck house must be kept dry and clean; the sports ground should be drained smoothly to keep the duck body dry and clean; and the indoor ventilation must be good.

2. Establish disinfection system. The whole duck house should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before entering the duck. The sports ground can be disinfected with quicklime, preferably once every two weeks, thoroughly rinsed with clean water after disinfection, duck houses and common utensils can be disinfected with permethrin, and green feed and drinking water can be treated with 0.02% potassium permanganate solution.

Compared with the traditional stocking mode, the dry rearing mode of laying duck mainly has the following obvious advantages.

First, it can greatly improve labor productivity. In the traditional stocking mode, each labor force can only raise about 250 egg ducks, using the captive mode, each labor force can raise 2500ml 3000 egg ducks, while in the cage mode, it can raise 5000000 eggs and 7500 eggs.

Second, it can obviously improve the feed utilization rate. After adopting the dry breeding model, due to the reduction of the energy requirement of basic metabolism of laying ducks after the transformation, the feed conversion rate can be increased by about 6%, and the feed waste under the traditional breeding mode can be changed at the same time.

Third, it can reduce the pollution of the surrounding environment. After long-term stocking, the traditional stocking mode is easy to pollute the water resources such as reservoirs and rivers and the surrounding environment. After adopting the dry farming mode, the recycling of sewage is realized and the environmental pollution is reduced.

Fourth, it can significantly improve economic benefits. At the same time of saving labor cost and feed cost, the modified dry farming model can obviously reduce the cost of drug use. At the same time, the seedlings fertilized with duck manure can obviously improve the growth rate and achieve the goal of high yield and harvest.

Fifth, it can significantly reduce the harm of epidemic spread. After adopting the dry breeding model of laying ducks, due to the relatively stable feeding environment, it is significantly reduced by the changes of external environmental conditions, which is conducive to duck epidemic prevention and reduce cross-infection caused by stocking, and significantly reduce the harm of epidemic transmission.
